This board is so wonderful, and especially helpful for choosing a resort. We are planning a trip in April 06, and from everything i've read, we'd like to stay at the Polynesian.

We previously stayed at POFQ and loved it - but we wanted to try a resort with easier transportation to MK. One of the things we loved about POFQ was the quiet. I realize the Poly will be more of a bustling atmosphere...

OK, so, we'd like to be fairly close to a pool area, but not so close that we'll hear all the noise from our room. I don't think view will be of great importance because most room time is spent resting or bathing/changing. We will have three children, ages 6, 2, and a 7 month old baby.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

The Poly is our absolute favorite resort. We like Tokelau. Simoa is really, really close to the Volcano pool, but you mentioned you didn't want to be too close in order to avoid excess noise. Never stayed there, so I'm not sure how it is as far as noise level. But Tokelau is a great location in my opinion. It's a short walk to the Volcano Pool, it's right beside the quiet pool, quick walk to GCH and TTC. We don't pay extra for lagoon view either, at least not yet. It would be wonderful, but the Poly is so beautiful it's hard to get a bad view.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is GHC and TTC?

Great Ceremonial House

Ticket & Transportation Center

When we stayed there a few years ago, we stayed close to the TTC, the building used to be called Oahu. It was nice to take a quick walk to the TTC to get the monorail to either MK or Epcot.

Not sure where you got the idea the Polynesian would be bustling. I have found the grounds to be very quiet myself.

The GCH is where the lobby, shopping, food etc is and the TTC is the Transportation and Ticket Center next door with busses and the monorail to Epcot.

Our favorite longhouse is Fiji. I wouldn't call the Polynesian "bustling" at all- it has a nice laid back atmosphere and it always been quiet when we've walked around the grounds.

When i said 'bustling', i meant in comparison to POFQ...

I'm thrilled to hear that it's quiet there though!

I also don't consider it bustling at all. It is very quiet, except for the volcano pool at times, of course, (which is true at all resorts) and Ohana's at dinnertime, LOL!

It is very peaceful there. So quiet I can hear the music from the MK and the howls from the Haunted Mansion across the lake.

I can't imagine why the other resort would be more quiet (?)

Look at Tikiman's wonderful site. We love the Samoa building for a LOT of reasons.

Good Luck!
