Hello, I just made a payment on my second reservation on our Vacation from Dec 18th - Jan 4th. I had to split the reservation in two because with the 40% off code you can only book up to 14 days. So I had to open another reservation from Jan 1st - Jan 4th. I was told these rates are not guaranteed even though I have paid?

Is this common? You pay a room rate and then go to checkin and find the rates higher? Does Disney notify you? What about the 40% of rate, can that go up too?

This is my first time staying onsite and never experienced this.....

The Jan 1-4th rates aren't guaranteed because the room rates always go up in January. You can book at 07 prices but when the 08 prices come out they will adjust your rate for those days. Yes they will send you a confirmation letter when it happens.

That is business. If that were the case, then you could book between now & the next 5 years at today's price.. Every year the rates change somewhat & Disney reserves the right to adjust your rate for any bookings made prior to the announcement of the new rates...If they had their rates out, then you would not have to worry. If you booked say closer to Jan, the rates might be out by then. I just checked the Disney website & while you can book for 2008, they do not have "rates" for 2008 to check, only 2007

I had to book now because of special room request with a special needs child. Guest relations wanted us to be able to keep the same rooms and because these rooms are limited and it is over Christmas, we were wise to book now! Nobody had taken the time to explain there may be room rate increases. Oh well, it can't be that much and it is only the last three nights! Gosh, the rate of 49.00 dollars anyway is reason to keep my mouth shut!

you are correct on the $49.00 :thumbsup2 Does your second ressie have the 40% off too? If so, I would not worry too much, if anything, the rates may go up $5.... as long as they are letting you keep the 40% off, that is the main thing ;)

Our first 14 nights has the 49.00 rate. The last three are 82.00 ! Not bad even if they go up some! Getting excited for staying onsite!

The last three are at rack rate. They are not giving you any discount. You at least have the $49 for the other portion! If you are a passholder, you need to watch for the passholder rates to come out for that time frame. When they do, you can call to see if they can convert your last three days over to that rate. You would have to start watching for the AP rates around maybe September-ish... once you see they came out.. you call. They will book up fast for that time frame

I remember watching a special at WDW on December 31, 1999 were they were interviewing somebody that had gotten reservations for there trip to WDW back in the 70's and at that time, you could reserve a room in a future year at that days price. Lets just say, the guy and his family got a great deal.
