I know there a million threads out there with this question and I've read them, but am confused so I'm hoping someone can help! We are staying at POP - standard room, for the first time, DH, me, and DD(4). I would like a room that is quiet, but close to the bus stop & main building. I think quiet means lake view, but which building would you prefer. I'm thinking one closest to a pool too so maybe the 50's? Or, is the 70's more quiet b/c there is no pool and it looks just as close? Thanks!

If you want quiet, you definately don't want anywhere near a pool...not just the main pool, ANY pool. They all stay pretty packed from what I saw (and heard). The 70's building was very quiet when we stayed there, of course I think we were the only people on our floor, soooo...
I know opinions differ, but my opinion is that all the rooms are fairly close anyway.

I liked 50's building #2 on the backside. We had a view of the Epcot ball. Loved it! I didn't feel the walk was all that far. As for noise from the pool, you could hear it if you were out on the walkway but not in the room.

We stayed at the 60's building B, I believe room 5342 last year. It was soooo quiet! It was opposite the side of the pool. It was close to Century Hall and the bus stop. We are going back next month, hoping to get the same area. We did not pay for preferred, but we got it anyway. Now I wish I could remember how I did that so I can do it again! I might request the 70's since that also has a nice playground. I called today to Pop and asked when I need to make a room request and I was told by the CM that rooms are assigned 5 days before your arrival, if that helps.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate your feedback and it helps a lot!

During our May trip we stayed in 80's Building 9 facing 70's building 10. It was very quiet, close to the computer pool and by cutting through the 90's parking lot was just a short walk to the buses and not much further to Classic Hall. I was a bit disappointed at first with our room location as we had requested a lake view in the 50's section but after seeing how convenient it was to everything it turned out to be a great location for us.

Pop is great!! :thumbsup2

FWIW, on my last stay at Pop I was 50's facing the bowling pin pool - ground floor.

Now.. I didn't find it noisy at all and I really thought I would. But with our door closed and the A/C on, I didn't hear anything but our TV... at any time of day or night.

Your mileage may vary of course.
