Hi,

We are staying at the Grand Californian next Jan and want to know if anyone has any pictures of the different room types. The Disneyland web-site is very bad compared to the WDW website. The hotel pages do not give you much. We just became DVC members and are finanlly able to stay at the GC using points. We really want to know what type of rooms they have and what is the best area to be in if you have kids (dd 8 & ds 2). We don't have enough points for concierge, so just need info on the regualr rooms.

Thanks for the help

Judy;)

Those are the same pictures that disney shows. I am trying to get a little more about the hotel. No one has the rooms broken down in sections or pictures of the hotel.

I'm not sure what kind of information you're looking for, but I don't think the GC has a lot of different "types" of rooms. They have suites, rooms with 2 queens, and rooms with bunkbeds and one queen. It sounds like the last option would work for your family.

I don't know how requesting certain areas would go at the GC, but you might want to request a room near the entrance into DCA or DD. That would give you the easiest access to the parks, although it would be very easy to access the parks from other locations as well--the hotel is very convenient to everything at DL.

Here is a picture of the entrance into DCA. It leads literally inside the middle of the park. I imagine the rooms in this area would have a "park view."

Here is a picture of the entrance into Downtown Disney. Again, it literally opens up right in the middle of DD, with DL right across the way.

I got these pictures from www.intercotwest.com. The link to the rest of the Grand Californian pictures is here.

Here's another link from the DL website to a map of the DL area. The group of buildings in the middle with the green roofs is the GC. It may not look it, but from about the middle of the GC to the entrance of DL is about a 5-10 minute walk.

Hope this helps--it's all I've got! :D :D :D
