Room only vs. Package

Hello -
We are going to be in the Orlando area later this summer on business for a few days. We'd like to sneak in a park day or two after our business concludes, and stay on property a couple of nights. However we're not sure we can get the time off to do that, and likely won't know until really close to our trip dates.

Due to the uncertainty, we booked a room-only, because we've heard it's easier to cancel those. Can we now buy tickets separately and link them to our room reservation, without causing it to have "package" cancellation rules? (If we have to cancel the room for this trip, we will definitely be back sometime fairly soon, so we're not worried about having unused tickets.)

Also if we do get tickets separately, would we still receive magic bands? and would we still be able to book FP+ 60 days out? Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Yes. Buy tickets from UT or AAA and link them.

Yes. MB are issued based on room rez, not tickets. They serve as room keys.

nd would we still be able to book FP+ 60 days out?

Yes, the 60 days is based on the on-site hotel.

You can also buy tickets directly from Disney but separately from your room purchase, and it will not make it a package. Just go online and buy your tickets. Then link tickets to your RO room reservation, and make your FPs at 60 days.

When we buy tickets, we use Undercover Tourist, it saves a few dollars, but I'm not sure for 2 day tickets if there is any savings with them. Easy enough to go online and check. In comparing prices keep in mind UT publishes the total price with tax up front, while on the Disney site it doesn't add the sales tax untill check out.
