We are staying a couple of nights at AKL before we start our vacation package at CBR. On the morning of checkout from AKL, we planned to begin our day at AK, however, we will not yet have our tickets for our vacation package. Is there a way to get the tickets without having to travel all the way to CBR? TIA! :)

Yes. You can go to guest services at any of the parks (or DTD) up to three days prior to the start of your package to pick up your park tickets. It is all in the ticket sticky found here...

Read post #15 section "I".

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I called Disney this afternoon and they told me that I wouldn't be able to do this. I'm so glad to know that I can! Thanks again! :)

Yes, you can pick up your package tickets up to 3 days in advance of your package. Per the Ticket Sticky, Post #15-I. BUT, on the date your package begins, I understood you may not do this. OP stated they were going to AK first thing on the morning that the CBR package stay began.

OP, I would take the bus to AK Guest Relations during your 2 days at AKL (it's at the left of the front gates). Or, you can go to any Guest Relations in WDW, including TTC and DTD. Get your package tickets then. On the date you move to CBR (and you visit AK), you will be ready with tickets in-hand.

Does anyone have an opinion on this?

The early ticket pick up is only for your park tickets. If your CBR package includes a dining plan, you will have to go over to CBR on the day your package starts and check in to get your KTTW cards which will include your dining credits.

When we switch resorts, I find it easiest to check out early, and take a cab with my luggage over to new resort, do early check in and still get to a park by rope drop using bus at new resort. If you have the DDP this would be the easiest way to get to CBR. To pick up your kttw card.

This is the first time I have ever seen anyone post that and it is not in the sticky.

This info is in the sticky post linked above, but just in case OP missed it, thanks for posting it. :goodvibes

we aren't changing resorts but we do have 2 ressies due to the start of free dining 3 days after we arrive. So we arrive on weds, we'll get our park tickets so we can start going to the parks on thursday, then sat we check out very early and check back in (Lord pls let us get the same room) and head off the parks but with our Dining credits.

18 days....

To OP and other posters: I did some research to verify my post above. The following recent threads I found back up what I am saying. You may pick up your package tickets from a Guest Relations facility up to three days in advance of the start of your package. You MAY NOT pick up your package tickets at Guest Relations on the day your package starts. On check-in day, you must go to your hotel and check-in to get your tickets. I am posting this in order to save OP some trouble and confusion if he/she planned to pick up their tickets the morning of their visit to AK, which is also the day their package starts. Since OP might also want their dining credits, it might be worth it to taxi to CBR early on check-in day, to get tickets and dining credits.

"One, two, or three days before your check in day -- Go to the park you wanted to go to, bring copies of your room package reservation papers. Get the tickets at Guest Relations. These are plain tickets, not room keys.

Day of check in -- You must go to your resort. You can do preliminary check in as early as 6 in the morning..."

"That is correct; if it is your check-in day, guest relations will send you to the resort. It is only if it is earlier than your check-in day."

Why don't you add some (ticket) days on to your package?

We're doing a room only stay before our package begins too. December 8th and 9th we have a room only stay at AOA, and then we will switch to POFQ on December 10th for the FD package until December 16th. We added an extra (ticket) day to our package to give us 8 days at the parks (instead of 7) for only $25-$30.

This way when we arrive on December 8th at AOA, we'll go directly to Guess Services located at DTD to pick up our tickets. We will start using the parks and water parks that same day, on Decemeber 8th.

Why wait for your FD package to begin in order to enjoy the parks?

THANK YOU so much for the information. Plus for your time & energy in sharing it with us. :)

We've decided to sleep in a couple of hours and grab a cab to CBR after we check out of AKL. We do need our dining credits as that evening we have ressies at Yak & Yeti. We won't be at AK at rope drop but that's okay, we will be visiting the park again during the week.

Thanks again for helping us decide how to proceed.

We want to enjoy the resort without the excitement of adding the parks to the mix. We typically do a few resort only days after our WDW vacation but this time, with free dining, we decided to add the resort only days before our park days.

We really treasure our resort only days as it gives us a chance to get to know the resort and gives us an opportunity to take it all in at leisure. That's when we enjoy the lounge, pool, boat rentals, arcade, etc. During our park days, we just can't tear ourselves away from the parks so it's best for us to separate the two. :)

You're so welcome! I was trying to prevent a sad situation for you at AK gates. Have a wonderful trip! :grouphug:

Thank you! Yes, the kiddo is already in countdown mode! :D Of course we still have 2 1/2 wks to go but that won't stop him from counting down the days. Today, I put together our luggage tags and I'm sure we will be watching Disney movies from now until then. Plus, heading to the Disney store always gets me in a good mood.

Anticipation is part of the vacation for us. ;)

Thanks again!!!

You probably could use your park ticket at AK but you wont be able to use your DP credits until you checkin at CBR. Same thing happen to me last Aug. I left POR and went to MK thinking i could begin using my pkg. I went to guest relations after realizing i couldnt use a snack credit on the DP. Guest relations said in order to activate the DP I have to checkin to my new resort (Pop). So we had to leave MK, checkin at Pop, then go back to MK. Such a pain. Had i known, I would have gone to Pop straight from POR before going to MK. Live and learn right?

Exactly! Which is why I just take a cab early to new resort and check in. Still able to make rope drop! If OP doesn't have a DDP guess it won't mater but I don't recall wether or not they do.
