We have a trip planned in Oct but have an opportunity to spend a few days in the area before then. I was wondering if I just book a resort hotel do I still get the free dining? I know I can't eat in the parks but I could still eat in the hotel restaurants.

Thanks.

Nope, free dining is part of a package. You could book a room with one day park tickets to be able to qualify, but that is about the only way.

My understanding is that you must purchase atleast a 1 day ticket along with your room in order to get the free dinning.

Yep. Just purchase a 1 day MYW ticket and you'll get the free dining.

Just to clarify, you would need to book a MYW package using the code for 'free dining', within the correct window of time. Not all resorts and room types may still be available--availability of the special packages is limited. And cost for the room would be at 'rack rate', since you can not stack codes/discounts. Number of dining credits would be based upon number of nights you pay for the room (not connected to number of days admission).

And the biggie...
It is a minimum purchase of a one day base MYW ticket per person in the room, in order to create a package. Not just one single ticket per room. But you can save those tickets for a future visit, and upgrade them to whatever you need/want (even AP's if you so choose). :thumbsup2
