Room only for one night only???????

I'm a AP holder and another one anxiously hoping an ap discount will come out for summer. I'm in need of a one night stay on June 11 before I switch to Windsor Hills. I have my heart set on staying at the Poly that night. Problem is the GP discount for the Poly is only 20% right now which keeps it out of my price range still. I could afford to stay at the CR for that night which would almost be as good (really want to watch fireworks from Poly beach). So here's my dilemma..........Do I reserve a Poly room for that night and hope that the ap discount comes out and then apply it later? Or just reserve the CR and if an ap discount comes out, switch. Also, since I only want one night, I will have to pay in full (one nights deposit) at booking, right? So if I apply a discount later, how do they credit me?

If you have AAA card I would use that until AP rates come out, at least you would get 20% off rack rate. Thats what I did for the cabins for 9 nights. I'm hoping that codes will come out soon for AP rates. When I talk to the lady on the phone when I made my room reservation, she said AP should be coming out in May for summer rates.

I would book the CR then switch if you can if a discount comes out. That way you'll at least get something in your price range.
After all, the Poly is only a monorail ride away from the CR. It would be easy enough to catch the fireworks from the beach then go back.

I did the same thing.....used my AAA discount for BLT stay 6/3-7. Still hoping for an AP rate.......but I'm getting discouraged!!

For our trip in Jan '09 we decided last minute to add a night and didn't care if we were on property or not, so checked Travelocity. We found POP for $49, about as cheap as anything else, so we stayed there. I know WL and AKL were both on there the night we needed. Never hurts to check them.

I'd book with what you can live with now, with the current 30% GP discount, then if AP comes along with a good rate for Poly, you can switch.

For 1 night, yes you do have to pay in full. If a refund is due, Disney will credit back to your credit card.

This is what we did, we booked back in Feb, BC with the 35% GP discount, I can live with that, but if AP comes out, it's gravy!

I hear you with Poly, we can only stay there with a very good AP rate. Anything less then 40% and we won't stay there. I guess WDW is getting enough people to stay there with a low % off or they are seeing if people will still book with a lesser discount.
Possibly people have booked expecting a decent discount, and if it doesn't come out, they'll switch.

I just book with what I can live with, at a resort I will enjoy.

Id book the room and change it if a discount comes out. You just got to be quick so the discount isnt all booked.
