Room-only code for package?

Just want to see if anyone had experience with this. I'm looking at a trip in June and noticed on MouseSavers that this past year, there was no package discount, just a room-only one.

I "chatted with a Disney specialist" on the website and he assured me that, indeed, the room-only discount could be applied to the room portion of a package.

I also know that you have to take everything anyone at Disney says with a grain of salt! So I'm wondering if any has done this before for sure so I can ease my mind a little.

For our trip last December, I had a 40% pin code for room only. I was still able to make it a package with tickets and dining plan. The only part of the that was discounted was the cost of the room for 9 nights.

Yes, you can use a room code with a package . The CM was correct that the discount would be applied to the room portion only, with tickets (and dining, if you choose) being regular price. I have received 2 or 3 pin codes in the past as well as booked bounceback room only offers and have always added tickets and DDP and have never had a problem getting the discount on the room .

I know that you can ADD tickets and dining to a discounted room rate BUT can you use the code to discount the room once the tickets and dining are already added?
