We have a room only resservation at CBR for our first night and then we move to the CR for the rest of our package. Does anyone have any insights to share with me on exactly how this transfer from one hotel to another works and how to ensure it goes smoothly? We will be arriving at the airport at 7:00 pm (not ideal to me but they changed it since we booked) and using ME to get to the hotel. We will be staying at the CBR only one night and then moving on to the CR. We want to go to the MK that day as soon as possible after getting our tickets from checking into the CR. How exactly does the transfer of our luggage work? Does one of us have to stay with the luggage until they come get it? And what if our luggage is delayed from ME and hasn't arrived yet? Will they know where we went? :confused3 Now that I have all of the big things planned out for this trip I think I am just finding little things to worry about now. LOL

Forgot to add that I am planning on packing all we need for our first day in our carryons.

I doubt your luggage would be delayed. They could just hold your luggage at bell services for them to transfer the next day to CR. You tell them you are transfering and the luggage will go to CR. You don't need to be with the luggage.

I'm bumping you up b/c I am planning on doing something similiar.(POP 1 nt. and then switching to maybe CR for package). We won't be arriving at MCO until 5:30PM. I really want my luggage w/ me the first night even though I'll pack stuff in the carryon just in case. I've heard stories of not receiving your luggage in your room for hours

I'm very interested in this also. We are staying Friday night (1/13) in POP before our week stay (Sat to Sat) at CR.

Last time I did this, I called the luggage service on the morning of check out and told them I was moving to another hotel. The luggage guy came to our room within 10 minutes and gave us a tag and took our luggage. When we arrived at our new hotel at the end of the day, we checked in, went to our room and called down for our luggage. It was very easy.

I just did this last week moving from Sports where we we stayed for one night before checking into WL for our package. I decided to just take a cab from Sports to WL and take the luggage with us. I was glad we did that since our room was ready at WL and we just took our stuff up to the room with us before we headed out to the parks so when we went back for a rest midday we were able to have uninterrupted quiet time.

I saw where you took a cab. Is it possible to do this through Disney transportation? We want to start our teip at the MK that morning, so time is of the essence. :earsboy:

You can change resorts through Disney transportation but it will take you a while because you'll need to take a bus to a resort and then another bus to the new resort before you go to the parks since you've got a package and will need to check in to get your keys to the world. That's why we took a cab. I needed to check into WL before we could go to the park. We just went out front at Sports, told Bell Services we needed a cab and they motioned a driver over. He took us to WL where we were able to check in, take our luggage to our room and be on a bus to MGM before 9. We walked through the gates at MGM 10 minutes after it opened. The cab from Sports to WL would be about the same as one from CBR to CR and it was less than $20. That was money well spent for us.

The luggage fairies will take care of it for you. Since you're at a moderate, you may have to wait for bell services to come for your luggage like you would at a Deluxe. At the Values you just leave your luggage inside the room under the windows and let bell services know that you need them transferred.

You'll want to take the bus to the MK and then make the short walk to the CR to check in and get your tickets. If you're in a hurry, I would also walk back to the MK instead of waiting for the monorail. The train will be going the "wrong way" toward the TTC.
