Room Inspections

I have a question. What are the room inspections for the Disney College aparments like? Can you hang things on your wall? And if so, what could it be and how can it be placed on your wall?

The room inspections are basically done to make sure that your apartment isn't a disaster zone, haha. Usually 2 people come in and just check to make sure that the apartment isn't really dirty or that there aren't any of the banned items that they listed upon your arrival there.

They never seemed to care what we had hanging on the walls, so you should be fine. They do ask that you use the 3M strips, if possible, or as few nails as possible. The inspection isn't really something to worry about. Just make sure that your apartment is somewhat clean (things picked up off the floor), trash taken out, not too many dishes in the sink, and you should be fine.

It's a little different now... for the exception of ONE bulletin board per person, no decorations are permitted on the wall, and this is being enforced per the community codes.

Thats crazy! Living in a completely bare walled room. I really dont like that...thats minus cool points for Disney CP.

hmmm...is that what random meant..damn i've been wrong all this time. i'm sure word will spread one way or another. i don't do well with conforming and white is such an ugly "color". my bed room walls are blood red currently. white hurts my head..so for my mental well being i think ill take my chances ;]

I was there last Fall... we had hardly anything on our walls and "passed" the inspection. My neighbor had about 20 posters on their wall with thumb tacks and "exceeded expectations." They didn't care what was on the walls in this case, and I was in a brand new building at Patterson.

Just be smart and don't hang anything that would leave a mark when you leave.

Ok I asked Disney andd cleared up my questions (I wasnt very happy about the no decorations on the wall...ticked actually, I dont want to live in a jail cell)

"Price Management ask that participants do not use push pins or other objects that will make holes in the wall. As long as you use 3M adhesive or another brand of adhesive, ones that will not damage the wall or the paint, you can put objects on the wall. Also, decorations cannot be placed in the window or on the ceiling. More information will be given upon arrival during the welcome session."

thats an exact quote. I will be decorating my walls, because I dont plan on making holes. I'm using 3M strip all the way.

Well...that's a lie about them giving out more information about decorations during the welcome session. I have been living in Patterson Court for about 4-5 days now (loving every moment of it) and they didn't even TOUCH on what could or cant be on the walls...It doesn't say it anywhere...not even in any of the many papers that we've received during check in or the welcome session...this is why I'm asking....but thank you all so much for clearing this up for me

If you have a question like that, you usually have to raise your hand and ask, or, ask someone who's in charge at a later point. They don't really cover a lot of stuff they probably should with you, because they have a ton to go over. It's always best to just double-check. Even if we've done the CP before, things might have changed and/or we might not cover everything perfectly.

Front desk isn't really giving us much attention...our roomates and I have been calling them to try to fix some things in our apartment (broken oven door, broken drawer in the fridge, broken towel rack, and to spray our house because we have been getting lots of roaches lately...but we dont even keep food out)...and still nothing. I have been walking down there a few times for my question and for the issues to be resolved, but they just say "we'll get back to you" and leave it at that.

I absolutely hated the "Clubhouse" people at Vista. They were very rude and unhelpful the whole time I was there. You have to really get in their faces (not in a rude way, of course. But a "Hey. This is your job, so do it" kind of manner) if you want something fixed, because they tend to do a poor job otherwise.

Honestly, if serious issues aren't being addressed relatively quickly, they need to start going up the chain.

A broken towel rack isn't as important as a working oven door/bugs.

i know its not that important...i just dont want to get blamed for breaking it if they asked how it got broken in teh first place...that's why I want to get it resolved...but still there has been no activity....some guy actually managed to spray our apartment a few days ago...so that's good...but we still have the broken drawer in the fridge and the broken towel rack...
