Room Discounts

I actually posted this earlier today, but buried it in another thread.

I have been waiting around to make our room reservations for our cruise pre and post nights but can't seem to get in on any deals for our dates. There are all kinds of discounts around us including me getting a free dining pin (which we can't use because it is a 5 day deal) Is halloween weekend usually a discount free weekend? The regular room discounts don't seem to be out for past Oct 2, but the free dining stuff is, so I am just curious from those of you better in the know, how long to keep waiting, or do i need to book now and just deal with it. Thanks

HOw long do you plan on staying at WDW? The PIN offers and most packages quote a 5 night stay, but that doesn't mean you have to stay for 5 nights. I believe the minimum is 3 nights and the max is 10 or 14. That might help you out if you are staying for 3 or more nights.

As far as room only discounts for Halloween weekend, I'm not for sure. You can always book and as long as you are not in the penalty period, you can call back and have a code added if it's released. WDW discounts usually are released before the penalty date though.

Did you look on www.mousesavers.com ? She usually lists all available discounts, very comprehensive.

Your looking for room only discounts since you are only looking for pre and post cruise nights. On Mousesavers they have the code for the discount for room only.

That is where I tend to look most, and even though it was updated 7/22, the room only deals are still through 10/02.

I may just have to book the rooms and if the deals come out, call back and see if they will change for me. Am I correct, if I call to book just one night prior and one night after, I pay for one night now as the deposit and one when we check out?

That will be considered 2 separate reservations since you will be checking out after the first night. You will be required to pay for both nights now.

Are you an AAA member? There are AAA discounts available for the last week of October, although perhaps not at every resort. The discount for a value resort is only 10% - but that's better than paying rack rate if nothing better becomes available.

If you don't mind you can move it. Sorry, I just come here and don't play well with others i guess! I will go over there and try to annoy someone else and save the people over hear at least the questions for the boat part of the trip!

But on the mousesavers historical list of discounts note that room only codes for your dates didn't come out last year until 7/27/09 - so if it's the same this year you might see something pretty soon

For check ins 10/4/09-12/24/09 room-only discount for general public became available on 7/27/09, exp 9/26/09, extended to 10/31/09, extended to 12/20/09

Anyone have any inside information on some upcoming fall room or package discounts.

Waiting to book when we see the schedule AND see if there will be savings!
