I received a pin offer a couple of wks ago about 35% off room discount. I have already booked for free dining. It will be myself, dh, ds(11), dds (5,2) at CBR. We are going May 29-June 3 (busy Memorial Day week). If I book for the room discount, we will be going a wk before May 22-29 @ POR. I will be saving over $400 for room, but paying $300 more for the package (tickets & DDP). We are consider about the crowds on Memorial week (dh hates crowds). I have read about crowds for both wks. Paying $300 more, is worth it for the crowds & less wait?

We have gone mothers day week (may 8-15/ 9-16) two years in a row. It is a wonderful time to go with low crowds. Using Ridmax we usually waited less than 5min and with planing rode test trak, soaring twice every day we were in Epcot. One consideration is that with free dining comes more patrons and I would assume longer waits for meals. Think of it if everyone can get a free sit down meal they will. If they are paying oop then more families will choose CS making wait times and service a bit better. I would never go during a busy time. WDW is very expensive so if I'm waiting in line then I'm paying to be in line. You may get more for your money paying a bit more on a slow week but you may pay less per experience once you get there.

Just a thought.

Thanks for your thoughts. I was thinking about the same thing about paying to be in line. I am going to purchase ridemax too.

How often are the resort rooms offered on a discounted rate?
I have no clue. I know that disney is offer room discount right now. I received this discount thru a pin code.
Also when are they most popular? I am looking to go in June
I think the room discount that are currently offering now is thru the winter months. They may come out with a room discount or other discount for the summer. You can check disney website and scroll down the bottom and click on special offer.

I had a 30-35% (can't remember which one) pin that I used yesterday to book. I have heard that free dining was a possibility for the month I go so when I booked I asked the girl to give me a quote both ways to see what would be cheaper in case that discount came out and the % off was still about $200 cheaper. Try to call and see if they will quote it both ways for you too and see whats cheaper.
