Room Discount Percentages for Jan-Apr 2014 Complete Listing

Has anyone booked during the time where the discounts are reduced in March? Any idea of what the actual percentage discount is for this time period March 6 - 16th?

I just upgraded 2 of my April nights to BC. Using the discount I saved 214.16 per night so I figured I should go ahead and do the upgrade.

My other 3 nights I decided to stay with AoA - Little Mermaid room even though it's not discounted.

I really, really wanted to try a couple of new resorts this trip.

I'm the one that posted the above. I called Disney again, and the awesome cast member told me that the preferred rooms ARE available if I add a day and check in one day sooner. She changed my reservation. The CM also informed me that if I can't change my airline tickets to get there 1 day sooner- to call back later and they can cancel the 1st day, and I can keep my preferred room! Hmmm....that's one way to get the room category I wanted! The cast member suggested it, and it works for me!

I booked the Contemporary, Garden Wing, Garden View, 3/31-4/5, 3 adults, 2 kids, 6 day tix plus hoppers and DDP for $4917.16, and I was told that was about a 35% discount. I built a package without the discount and it roughly works out to be the same as free dining would be, about $1k savings off rack rate.

Have you stayed in this room before?? I wanted to stay at CR but even though the room says it holds 5, I didn't think it was big enough for 3 adults and 2 kids. I would consider switching for sure if it's doable!

You can apply a room discount to a package reservation. They will just discount the price of the room, not the tickets and dining plan. We had a room only discount on our package last February.

The CM will cancel your package and rebook it room only if that category is available.

This doesn't work if the OP booked the package directly with runDisney. You cannot add discounts to those packages. OP would need to cancel with RD and rebook with WDTC.

They didn't include that information in their original post.
You are right that packages booked through outside vendors, which would include runDisney, cannot be changed.

We had 2 adults, 3 kids in one a few years ago. My oldest was a pre-teen and big for his age. We were thrilled with the amount of space! The daybed/sleeper sofa thingy would work for either a kid or an adult! Enjoy! We love CR!

If you cancel and rebook, you should get the ro discount and then get that rolled over into a package

A couple of questions for the wonderful experts on these boards:

Have you heard any rumblings about an Annual Pass discount? I have been reading about the Disney Visa discounts (which I presume will be offered to the general public soon) and the free dining PIN offer, but I haven't come across anything about Annual Pass room discounts for 2014. Do you have any information or even an educated guess about whether an Annual Pass room discount will be offered soon? If so, do you think it will beat the Visa offer?

Next question, if I decide to buy a package that includes tickets (even though I don't need tickets), can I save those unused tickets and allow a friend or family member to use them on a future trip? I believe that an unused ticket can be transferred, but I want to make sure. In the past, my ticket has been on my room key (with my name on it)...not sure if that happens any more. I wouldn't want to give someone a ticket that won't work for them. Also, do unused tickets ever expire? It is my understanding that I only need to add "no expiration" to a ticket if I want to use a few days and save the rest for a future trip. If I don't use any days on the ticket, will that ticket ever expire?
