Room Discount Percentages for Jan-Apr 2014 Complete Listing

Right, pending availability. It's no better to have the room beforehand.

Yeah, that's my opinion too, and that's what I'm trying to confirm. I can see that there are many non-CL options available online (CR TPV/LV or Poly standard for example) right now, so it can't be an availability issue. It has to be either a promotional exclusion or a dates exclusion. Which I totally get, especially since it's marathon weekend... I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being given incorrect information by the CM.

So far I haven't seen anyone post that they've secured a non-CL room other than CR GW, which we don't want anway at the CR or Poly, so I was just asking to see if I missed something.

I'm so sad....no preferred rooms are available at POR. We MUST stay at POR because we are a family of 5. I requested building 16, and will call back when the general public offer comes out. And again when the AP discount comes out. I don't want to be in the boonies!

Do you think more pref rooms will open up with the GP or AP promos?
If I'm stuck w/o pref....any recommendations on a good building close to bus stop and pool/s?

Thanks

I'm new to Disney planning, so forgive the dumb question. Do you mean no preferred rooms are available in your time period, or RO can't be applied?

We are already booked for early Feb for a preferred room, and I've been debating whether a RO or SPD would be better for us. I was thinking RO only, IF they decided to offer preferred rooms. But crunching the #s, I think we may be better with S/P/D anyway.

I hope something works out for you. We opted to do preferred regardless as POR put us within budget even without a discount, so I think we're just going to stick with the preferred.

There are no preferred rooms available for our dates (3/30-4/5) for the room only discount. I am hoping some are allocated for the general public or AP offer because I really wanted preferred. S/P/D isn't a deal for us since we are AP holders.

We just returned from Coronado Springs and were WAY out in the boonies in Ranchos! We were very close to a bus stop, but we were a 15 minute walk to the main building, and not too close to the main pool either. So, I will pay for preferred this time! I hope it opens up!

Good luck with your planning!

Additionally, if you are "holding" a room, you are at a disadvantage. Assuming that, like last time, the discount goes up on the internet at midnight, those who are just booking for the first time have a 7 hour advantage over people who need to apply the discount when the phones open up, unless those people are willing to shell out another few hundred dollars for a second reservation.

I am confused so I hope someone can help me. Is the Visa discount for room only? When I just called, the CM could only find the Play Stay and Dine discount. I want room only discount, which he said is not available. Help!

We got a room only discount today with our visa at beach club, standard view (they had garden views but not connecting, which we need) for 3/1-3/8.

You were given incorrect information-happens all the time-just call back and you will speak to another CM who hopefully is more informed. Good luck!!!:goodvibes

We have a Garden view room reserved for 3/30-4/6 at POR. Are the odds good that we'll be able to get a RO discount or is it more likely with a standard room?

It's actually less likely with a standard and MORE likely with a GV room since they are a bit more expensive.

Thanks, I called back and this time I had the actually code ready. I booked the All Star Music. My daughter is starting the Disney College Program in January so we will hope for a better discount and better resort once she starts. Doesn't really matter though because I'm getting an annual pass for the first time and will visit several times to "visit daughter". Oh the things we parents do for our children! :rotfl2:

Just curious, has anyone been successful booking anything other than CL for the poly or CR?

I'm being told that although there are non-CL rooms available for my dates (marathon weekend) the DV discount is only applicable to CL.

Yes. CR garden wing garden view. 35% off.

Fantastic!! I. So nervous lol. We originally wanted spd, but it's not for our dates. My hubby really doesn't want to go without a discount of some kind!

Well my daughter jokes that I have been preparing her since birth, so I guess no time is too soon!!

I booked the Contemporary, Garden Wing, Garden View, 3/31-4/5, 3 adults, 2 kids, 6 day tix plus hoppers and DDP for $4917.16, and I was told that was about a 35% discount. I built a package without the discount and it roughly works out to be the same as free dining would be, about $1k savings off rack rate.

Lol...so I guess I am on the right track then! Have fun enjoying all those "perks" while your DD is gaining all that invaluable experience!:goodvibes

I'm the one that posted the above. I called Disney again, and the awesome cast member told me that the preferred rooms ARE available if I add a day and check in one day sooner. She changed my reservation. The CM also informed me that if I can't change my airline tickets to get there 1 day sooner- to call back later and they can cancel the 1st day, and I can keep my preferred room! Hmmm....that's one way to get the room category I wanted! The cast member suggested it, and it works for me!
