Room decorating/Early Check-in

Does anyone know the rules for Christmas decorating your DVC villa? I kind of remember the rules changing a few years back about not decorating your balcony. Is there anything else I should know?

Also, Disney doesn't seem to honor any kind of early check-in requests. Has anyone had any luck or figured out how to possibly get their room earlier?

No decorations on the doors or balconies.

You can check-in any time after about 6 AM Eastern time. Room ready is after 4 PM. As soon as housekeeping has the room ready to be occupied, it can be.

And there is nothing you can really do to assure getting room earlier than 4. For example, if you do on-line check-in it does not change the odds of getting your room before 4.
