When should I expect a text for room assignment?

8:30am arrival? Like always, whenever the room is ready. Typically before 5:00pm.

8:30pm arrival? Should be ready when you get there. If you do online checkin, text will be sent when the room is ready.

If your arrival was today and you did online check in but didn’t get a text go into MDE and see if it has a room # listed for you. If not I’d say you need to go to the front desk b/c it sounds like something went wrong with online check in and you have to check in at the desk instead.

well I arrived at OKE at 10 p.m. still no text.
I went to the front desk they didn't need anything from me I already had my magic bands activated they didn't need my credit card it was on file everything was there they had me on the ground floor even though every single time I called and spoke with him including yesterday when I add it on a day I asked for top floor I'm going to put another thread in a second but I'm aggravated because I carried everything up here alone my husband isn't here tonight only to find the bedroom balcony door wide open yeah I can't stay in this room now because I have no idea what else is in this room

hard to decipher what you are trying to say in this because its one long sentence but room requests are not guaranteed.

Did you check MDE at any point? Quite often the assigned room is listed in MDE even when a "room ready" text has not been received.

As a PP pointed out, requests are only requests and not guaranteed. You get what the room assigner finds that works with your villa type and dates. It's a game of Tetris and if your request fits, then you get what you asked for. If not, then you get what fits their needs.

As to the open balcony door, yes that would bother me. I'm not a fan of bugs and whatnot crawling or flying into my room. But I would only mention it to a manager in the morning and then let it go. Chances are slim that anything got into the room that would not have entered any other time that a guest left the door open for fresh air.
