Room charges-daily balances???

Please help me with on board purchases. When you check in do I register a credit card and get a room key card to use to charge things? Do the daily balances get charged each day to my card or do they wait till the last day to charge everything to my card? Do I have the option of using cash or travelers checks to pay off balance each day or pay it all off the last day? Is the credit card they use on day one used to guarantee the charges but is not really used till the last day with my permission? My bottom line question is can I just pay everything off on the last day with cash or travelers checks? I just don't want to use a credit card if I don't have to. Can I pay cash for shutters photos or do I have to use the room key card? Thanks everyone!!!!

It is definitely a small world -- I see by your location that you are in Westerville, Ohio. I lived in Westerville until I was about 8 years old (a long time ago!) -- Lewellyn(sp?) Drive.

Anyway -- you will use your KTTW card to charge everything. I don't think they take cash anywhere. You can pay off your balance as often as you wish -- they are happy to take your money (cash or traveler's checks). When our balance exceeded $200 (about the 3rd day), they charged our card for the balance amount, which reduced the balance to $0. Then they charged the card with the final balance on the last day. If we had paid daily in cash, they would not have charged the card at all.

Just wanted to mention that if you wait intil the last minute to pay off your charges (that is if you're paying by anything other than a credit card) you will probably have to wait in line at Guest Services. What I've done in the past and will do for our cruise in May is send a check for "Shipboard Credit" well before we cruise (be sure to include all the pertinent info) so we don't have to worry about much of anything appearing on our credit card post-cruising. But, if you haven't used up all your credit you'll have to go to Guest services to get the difference. I like to check on my charges the last afternoon of the cruise and see how much credit I have left for drinks and souveniers. Good Luck, Have Fun and Don't Sweat The Small Stuff!
