I just tried booking a studio room at Old Key West--- We have three children (small) and they did not want to let me book it because that is a total of 5 people, and it is only meant for 4. I was told when we joined DVC that it would not be an issue getting a studio for our family. This determined how many points we purchased as well, because a studio is less points than the others. Our guide specifically told us that while the kids were small it was perfectly fine and as they got older we may want to begin to "spread" out. It was entirely up to us! However, I didn't get that message when I tried to book this morning. This has really frustrated me because now, it will take alot more points than we had planned on for this trip. Any feedback is appreciated!!!!

Hmm, this will be a problem in the future for you when the kids are bigger... But the studio's fit 4 people plus 1 child under 3 in the pack & play....

If you book a Boardwalk Studio plus, it has a small daybed, and you can book five people into this type of studio.... the daybed is not adult size, but it's great for children.....

Hope this helps.....

We stayed at BCV in January with 5. It was no problem.

I would call back and talk to a different person. The studio at OKW is huge and could easily hold six!

Officially, the limit is 4 persons regardless of age. However, there has been a policy in practice of allowing a 5th person if that person is a child under 3. Anything above that is not allowed and has been pretty consistently enforced.

Irregardless of how large the studio is, the contract says the occupancy is 4.

Yes some have been allowed to book 5 if one was under 3, but at any time it is within DVC's right to enforce occupancy levels when booking.

I am sorry your guide mislead you into thinking this would always be possible, but we are all responsible for reading our contracts and understanding the limits.

Bravo for MS, I wish they would follow the rules more. Though a guide may have said 5 was ok in a studio, the papers you signed clearly stated otherwise. Legal verbage is not binding.

In one bedrooms. About the same time they made the one bedroom will hold five policy semi official, they started cracking down on five in a studio.

As stated by several members, the studio capacity is 4 plus a child under the age of 3.
