Back at the time of President Reagan's funeral a question was raised about what faith (if any) Ron, Jr. and Patti practice. I'm not sure about Patti but Ron has an interview in the Sunday NY Times. He proclaims himself an atheist. His wife is a Buddhist and he says his "sympathies are in that direction".

He also mentions that him mom, Nancy, has glaucoma and that's why she has those big glasses.

him and Patti where never followed there dads ways

How inteesting. I remember him talking about dying and going to Heaven, saying we'd all be there and putting much stress on that phrase. I thought then that it might be possible that he and Michael had discussed this topic before...

He was on Larry King last week. Larry asked him if he would every run for office, he said he's an athiest, which probably not be good for a politician. He also seems to speak his mind, which isn't always good for politicians ;) .

What happened to Patty's husband? I guess they divorced?

It was funny, I turned the TV on yesterday morning and Ron was doing a commentary for a dog show on the animal planet! Didn't expect to see (actually hear) him there!

A Google search turned this up from May 1991:

Nancy and Ronald's daughter Patti Davis, a 39-year-old actress and screenwriter, divorces her husband, yoga instructor Paul Grilley, and begins dating John Engleton, a 25-year-old laborer with drug abuse problems, who wrote her a series of letters after seeing her pictorial in Playboy several years previously.

Patti has grown up a lot (heck she is in her fifities) and resolved a lot of her difficulties with her parents. I'm not sure whether she ever re-married after this first marriage.

She thanks her father for giving her the gift of faith in recent comments. I'm not sure whether she is currently in any organized religion.

I recall Michael Reagan, in the last few weeks saying that his father's great sadness was that all of his children were not Christians. I didn't realize at the time which son he was referring to.
