My DF and I will be Honeymooning in Disney this October. First we are doing the four day cruise and then four nights in the AKL. For the cruise portion we have booked the Romance package at sea. I have been to Disney a zillion times but always with my entire family and never just the two of us. Does anyone have any suggestions for something romantic to do. I have already made PS at the Royal Table, but I am looking for something else that is romantic. I would glady welcome any suggestions that someone may offer. Thanks in advance....

First let me start with Congratulations!!! :bounce:

There are so many "romantic" things to do at Disney. To be honest, I think it all matters in what you consider romantic. My DH and I are fireworks fans so we try to find great places to view them. The beach at the Poly is one great place. Also try dinner at Narcoossee's during the fireworks...what we did was go out on the patio with your drinks to view them. I think the AKL is very romantic...some might not agree but I think that "who you are with" makes the romance....ENJOY!!!:teeth:

We bought Walt Disney World for Couples to prepair and plan for our honeymoon... which we leave for on Wednesday!!! It has a ton of stuff and also "romance rating" on a lot of things. I would suggest starting there.

Enjoy!!!

DH and spent last spring break at AKL and did all kinds of romantic stuff (we figured we'd better get it in before we had any kids ;) ). The highlight of our entire trip was a massage and then dinner. The spa will send massage therapists up to your room for a couples massage. Then after we did that we ordered the Sunset Dining Package from room service (we ordered that the day before - just told them what time we wanted). They came and set up a complete meal on our balcony - salad, wine, dessert, the whole nine yards. It was so wonderful! Plus the whole ambiance of the resort is romantic and exotic. We sat up late one night at Victoria Falls - it was dark and quiet and soooooo intimate!

Also - I had Jane at Gifts of a Lifetime do a basket for us. It was the standard "Romance Basket" with champagne, mickey etched glasses, chocolates, candles and then I had her add robes (you can find them in the AKL gft shop and they are so fabulous - soft, terry cloth lined) and a few other special things.

Congratulations and I hope you have a wonderful time!

Congrats!

I second the recommendation to get "Disney World for Couples". You can find it at Barnes & Noble. DH and I both read it before our HM, and got tons of great ideas!! I still can't put it down and read it over and over.
Here are some suggestions:
- If you are at the AKL, I believe that you can go on a sunrise safari (??)
- Strolling the Boardwalk in the evening, getting a treat or playing some carnival games
- the World Showcase at Epcot. Eat or drink your way around. Allow for lots of time - it's super romantic!
- Dinner at the Cali Grill during the MK fireworks
- Walking the Poly beach in the evening
- Swimming in the pool late at night
- Watching Illuminations
- Sitting on the balcony of our resort with a glass of wine before dinner
- La Nouba (!!!!!!)
- A couple's massage at the GF Spa (!!!!)
- And we didn't do it for our HM, but are looking forward to V&A's in just three weeks!!

Have a great trip!

katie :)

We had the most romantic birthday dinner (mine!) at Jiko's. We had a lingering table by the window, some wonderful wine, and it was one of the most romantic evenings of my life (even with DD 7 and DD 15 bouncing in in the middle --- IN THEIR BATHING SUITS -- to say hi! Be sure to tell them it's your honeymoon

Afterwards, we strolled out in the balmy evening and looked at the animals in the night goggles.

Another romantic moment was to linger at Epcot after the illuminations crowd cleared and slowly walk around world showcase. We stopped in the bridge by france and looked at the sparkly lights and thought "it will never get better than this"

WOW! LOTS of Great ideas here!
Pete needs to post this thread on the home page with a link!::yes::

Another romantic thing DH and I love to do.....rent a pontoon boat and take a lunch basket with drinks (you can also do desserts, champagne, etc).

There's something about being on the water, just the two of you, ALONE, on your own boat. Sooo romantic!
:earsgirl: :earsboy:

Also...CONGRATS and have a wonderful honeymoon!!!! :teeth:

I made dinner Reservations at the California Grill at CR an hour before the MK closing and we watched wishes as we dined for our 10 Wedding Anniversary, be sure on all your PS that you mention your on your honeymoon, never know what little surprise might get sent your way.

Watching Illuminations in the garden in the UK pavillion while sipping Kir Royales from France. It's become a tradition for DH and I.

Leighe - I am interested in hearing more about the Sunset Dining Package and what the cost was. Also the Romance Basket sounds really neat too - would you mind sharing the cost of the basket and the cost of the robes as well.

Wonderful ideas! Thanks for sharing! My DH and I will be celebrating our anniversary at AKL in a couple of weeks so this thread is of great interest to me as well!

AKL is romantic all on its own. Hubby and I spent a long weekend there and never left the resort..we enjoyed the pool, hot tub and the restaurants. We were also on concierge that trip.

Threeboysmom - I think the Sunset Dining was $75. You can get on Deb's website allearsnet.com and look at to check out the menu also. I think her website listed the price as $95 so I was pleasantly surprised. You get a choice of salad, entree, and dessert from the room service menu (I had the shrimp - yummy and I don't remember what DH had - steak, I think) plus a bottle of South African wine - ours was kind of like a cabernet and was wonderful! The whole experience was fabulous!

I think the Romance basket was about $90 (that was with the champagne, chocolate, wine glasses, candles) and then I added the robes. They were pretty expensive - about $125 I think, but they are VERY well made and luxurious. However, you could also purchase your own robes and send them to Jane and have her add them. I did that with an Alice in Wonderland music box for a basket for my MIL and FIL. Hope I answered your questions. Please PM me if you want any more info.

Thank you so much for all the wonderful suggestions....Now I am even more excited....Between starting a new job, the wedding, and the honeymoon I can't sleep at night :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
