I am planning a trip to Disney world at the end of August and currnetly have CSR reserved but was thinking of switching to either AKL or WL. out of these three hotels which is the most romantic? Please help me as the AP rates end tomorrow and I need to make a decision.

Hi titan7342

I've never stayed at either, but I have visited both. I would go with WL There's just something about a huge cracklin' fire place, cozy sitting nooks, waterfall, lake, variety of resort activities. . .that just SCREAMS romance to me :lovestruc . The lobby is to-die-for :faint:.

Good luck on your decision!

Out of those three, I vote for AKL. It is the most "out of the hustle and bustle" and the dark wood tones are just so cozy in the rooms. I think that sitting on your own balcony looking over a savanna of animals is just a great way to spend time in the resort!

There are also great restaurants (like Jiko) to make it a special trip.

WL ... WL.... WL

great hot tubs

beautiful location - really feels like a resort - no other hotels or parks to look at.

I've stayed at all three and would choose WL. I'm from the northwest, though, so WL seems like home. My DH and I met in a national park and spent hours sitting in the lodge, so WL brings me back to those days. I like CS, however, and if you want to save some $ that would be nice, too. I like the common areas at AKL and do plan to visit there if my husband and I go to WDW this fall, but it's not my favorite place to stay. We're looking at the moderates for our visit.

does anybody know what the exact difference is between a standard room and a deluxe room at the WL. does one maybe have a balcony or do all the rooms have balconies?

We are just back from CBR and had lunch at WL......my husband liked the atmosphere so much .....he asked to see a room.....
A very nice CM took us up and I think he said the only difference was the view.....I think the most expensive being an all woods view.......(for that true wilderness feel HAHA) I also believe they all had balconies......
We did not get to AKL.....
WL also has a boat to MK........ very nice

From the WL FAQ thread:

STANDARD-TWO QUEEN BEDS (sleeps 4) Guest Room amenities include in-room wall safe, voice mail, and hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Coffeemaker and refrigerator are available upon request

DELUXE-TWO QUEEN BEDS & ONE SOFA BED (sleeps 6) The Deluxe Guest Room has a sitting area separated from the bedroom by french doors, additional television, refrigerator with ice machine, coffeemaker, and wet bar. All Deluxe Guest Rooms feature woodland views.
Guest suites (not shown) are also available.

Deluxe room may either be a Woods View or Courtyard View. Courtyard View is the most expensive view and considered the best view.

All WL rooms have either balconies or patios.

HERE is a page that will help answer most of your questions about WL and its rooms.

Hope this helps!

We stayed at AKL on our honeymoon, and it was fantastically romantic. I loved the darker decor, the impressive lobby, and the savannah view from our room. The pool was great, and Boma was fabulous. :sigh: That was a wonderful trip.

But I haven't been to WL, so I don't have a comparison.

Thanks for all the help I have just more question and it may be a little stupid. on a standard view room what will I be able to see from my balcony anything at all or is it just over looking the parking lot or something like that.
