O.k. So now we know we are going to DisneyWorld and we know we are staying at a Disney resort and since our WISH org. is paying out of pocket we are staying for 7Days!!! But the dates or not affirmed. They say probably the first week of Sep if thats o.k. with ya'll. Aug rolls @ By now I've found the DIS and I know about the DDP. OOOHHH everything is crowding up. How will I ever get ADRS???? Then I get a call How does Aug 17th-23rd sound? Great!! Just get us there, the sooner the better. We've got to go while Shannon and Braeton are well, cause with this bunch that could change any minute!!! O.k. Soooo is this confirmed? How do I do ADRS???
Well I thought I had to waiton a confirmed reservation # or something to start making ADRs. I can't remember who, but some kind DISSER told me I could go ahead and make them. I'll have to reread my pms and see if I still have that one to give proper acknowdlegment to, because w/out them there is no telling where we would've ended up eating!!!!!
So I start calling @. Coral reef? Nope booked up. I called constantly until a few days vefore we left and that was a no go!
Le Cellier? Nope Same as above/
Chef Mickeys? Yeah!!

Crystal Palace? Oh Yeah
So I'm calling and getting lots of No's and then I figure we are there for a week, I'll just tryt o get the ones we really want, we'll use parkhopper and we'll just rearrange plans. So that's what I did. I have it all settled!
Then..............1 week before the trip I get a call and our flight is later than waht I had originally been told. Soooo there is no way we can make Crystal Palace the first evening. Why did I plan that for the first day?

Well Braetons wish was Mickey and Pooh. i had went to Disney Land as a teenager 1 time and I just remember walking in and seeing that castle and feeling awe. i wanted the first park my kids went in to be the Magic Kingdom. Then the Magic would just flow over us and our trip would just be so awesome. No grumpiness or testiness, No OUR trip was goingt o be the most magical ever!!!

Anyway I started doingsome heavy figuring, I had to switch over half my Adr's then a kind CM helpedme on the phone and I agreed to trying Maya Grill one night and then instead of eating a TS the first night we would do a Breakfast at Cape May the day we flew home! Then I had to switch my Epcot meal and well we finally got it worked out. But something was a little different!!!!
So we ended up with........How many character meals? Can you guess????

So anyway when Mr. Frank called me the week before we left he said now I'm going to try to get a dinner with Mickey ,but you can call and make the rest of your reservations if you want to.
Gasp A week before we leave???? You don't understand I've been introduced to the DIS and I would not be a Limey if I waited a week before to make reservations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually just said Yes sir I've made a few and then he says I don't know if we can get in to any of the places we usually use they are all booked up so I pipe up Well I have Chef Mickeys and CP and he says Well I'm just going to let you do it and then I'll call and tell them who you are with. With us staying at a Disney Resort he had bought us the DDP!! YEAH I felt like a true DISSER!!!
I did forget to mention we originally started out at the POP, then 3 weeks before we left we were told the POP was full (YEAH WITH DISSERS!!!) So maybe an All Stars, nope that was full too, so then He calls us and tells us he had been on the phpne with isney and the only thing they could find open for our dates was one of the moderats. CBR, or one of the PO resorts. Well that sounds great!!!!!! Then @a week and a half before we left we found out that they couldn't get us in for all7 days so our WISH group put us in at the Beach Club. Would we like this??? Is this something they would ever use again for a WISH family??? Currently the main ones they were using were POP, beause they had the best remarks from people who stayed there and the Wilderness Lodge, mainly for bigger families, but the last family kind of had a rough experience there, so would BC work for us????
I was happy just to be going! I was exicited over PoP Excited over CBR, I'm happy wherever you put us we are going to WDW. Braeton was excited, because as he put it, no shots, and no school!!!

So it's 2 days before we leave!!!! It's Fri!!!! Yes I said Fri, because we were leaving Sun afternoon to stay at a hotel in Houston, so we would be right by the airport!!
I've gotten the house just about clean, I've got the kids almost all packed, but Zip Zap Doodle Nothing for me or DH. I went to work for a 1/2 day at the same school my kiddos go to. I am a substitute and was unable to work the first few weks of the year for personal reasons and had just returned. So I am at school @ 40 min and my phone rings, it's my Dad and I tell the teacher who hadn't left yet, "I'll call him back at lunch" Now my mind was wondering for a second could it be...? No They haven't called in months. When @ 15 min later the teacher has left and I hear her voice in the Hall going she's in my room at the end there. In walks my DH with a harried look on his face. I say NO! he says Yes! And I say WOSH let's go! I turn to the teacher and she says "transplant center?" I say yes She says "GO!!!!!! So off we went We had to stop and tell Tyler who was at Lunch, tell Braeton's teacher so she would know someone would get him from school, but I didn't know who yet and then off to tell the secretary that I was going to have to leavel. They have been through this before with us and are vey understanding. I've left them in the lurch several times when transplant center calls, but they are very understanding. So off we go. After hearing nothing from transplant center for 5 months they have 2 possible matches. So we start wondering Is this the one?
Due to my DHs LUPUS when the first pre lim match comes in Instead of prepping for surgery like they normally do. He has to come in give fresh blood then wait 8-12 hours to see if his blood will allow it to work.
I wasn't going to call the WISH org. untill we knew if it was going to match or not. Then I get a call from Mr. Frank checking on us and giving us the res. # for the roomhe ad vbooked for us at the Marriot in Houston. I told him what was going on and He said well hopefully it is a match and we'll just reschedule the trip. He said"In fact if it is a match and someone needs to use his room, we'll just keep it for you!! How nice!!!
Shannon was really worried about Braeton being disapointed. I told him he would get over it, this was his life we were talking about!!
So we start thinking you know one of these are going to work. It was 2 different people and for them both to pr-lim match HEY!!! That's pretty good!
Then we get the call, the first kidney Shannons blood was fighting against. The 2nd kidney was a match so far ,but they had found infection in it so NO GO!!

Well we were dissappointed but we had the trip to pack for. So after being zombied from our hopes being dashed again. I pickedmyelf up from my pity party on my couch and started getting ready!!!!!!!!!
After much delay We head off Sun 3 hours later than planned for Houston.
We arrive at the hotel@7:00 We were physically and emotionally drained from all the Hoopla Fri and Sat. We go to check in and she wants my credit card. Ma'am the WISH org came Tues and paid. I'm sorry but I have nothing on file for that res. # Just your name. O.k.
So I call Mr. Frank
Now Mr. Fank is one of those always peppy, cheerfull people. "Hey! Leah!!1 How's the room Wel.... we havn't got it yet.
So after much hoopla they finally get it all straightned out and off to our room we go.
We open the door and ther is a.......... very Hot wheelchair accessible room with 1 double bed. Now this is a very nice room but it wasn't that big and all four of us on 1 double bed wasn't going to work, but I didn't want to complain. I sure couldn't pay $200 for a roomwhen I was only 2 hours from the airport so we were just going to make do. I think that chair pulls out. NOT!!!
So I call Mr. Frank.
"HEY! Leah!!! Is everything worked out!?"" Well we are in a room. Mr. Frank What kind of room did you ask for? A wheelchair accesible with 2 beds. They said they only had it in double so I said o.k.. Is that fine with ya'll?"
Yes sir. This one only has 1 bed so I was just wondering if maybe you were going to have them bring in a cot.
"NO!! It doesn't have 2 beds?????????"
No Sir.

I'll call you back.

So after about 30 min we get a call from management. "Ma'am the only wheelchair accessible rooms we even have have only 1 double bed in them!
WHAT?????????????
Most people wheelchair bound have someone travel with them or they need help. Now I know this isn't always the case, but come on!!

Anyway after explaing we don't need the handicapped BR and we won't even use the chair that night they get us another room.
After about an hour we recieve aknock on the door and the bellman brings us to another room and gives us 4 complimentary breakfast buffet tickets for the next mornig.
So we opent he door and.....
another hot, yet........ YEAH a bigger room With 1 king sized bed!!!

And then I realize that the couch pulls out! To a double bed

TRhe big bed is MINE!!!!

So by now it's after 9 p.m. Wea re hungry and have very little money on us. We had approximantly $17 dollars between us!!

I know And yep we were going to WDW Poor as Jobs turkey

It's important to mention that Yes our room, airfare, tickets and meals were already paid for by the WISH org and all our other expenses including snacks souviees, tip money etc... were being taken care of by our spending money the WISH org was giving us. And yes It was a good amount. I was in shock when I heard how much. For those of you that have been on these trips you know it takes it. The problem was that originally we were supposed to meet with Mr. Frank and his wife Sun go out for dinner, they were going to give us our expense money and then we were going to go to our room. Well some things came up and they couldn't come that night, so they were meeting us the next morning at the airport, where they were going to do a send off party for Braeton with ice cream and gifts for the plane, etc...
So we were there with no money. It was actually kind of funny. DH had had to have surgery. and we had several unexpected expenses that month so we were totally broke and we were in a nice Hotela nd on our way to DISNEY WORLD!!!!
Anyway Mr. Frank had said to order room service since they couldn't meet us and charge it to the room. We ordered the kids 2 kids chickenstrip meals and me and Shannon ate some of the snacks I had brought. I'm a tightwad by necessity and I couldn't order myself something so expensive, even if someone else was paying for it. I didn't want to take advantage of the genorisity of the WISH foundation.
Anyway @ 11:00 were we in bed resting for our flight the next morning???
No we were in the pool!! Or rather the kids were, because me and Shannon had forgotten our swimsuits, So picture me leaning over the whirlpool in a long skirt holding on to Braeton so he doesn't go under. Yep I even scooted across the floor around the pool so he could "swim"!! It was so much fun. So @ 1 a.m. we are finally all bathed and in the beds.
The next mornig we wake up and are dressed and in the lobbyy for breakfast @7:15. We were supposed to be at the airport@9:15. It was only 4 min. away, So we had plenty of time right?????

Hi! I have "seen" you on Jenny's report and knew you were thinking of writing a report but had missed it until now.

I am all caught up and your boys are adorable. No such thing as too many pics of cute kids,at least I don't think so.I have a ton of them on my report and hope noone complains.

Glad Braeton's surgery went well.

WOW ya'll had a rough start with the room-hope its easier getiing to the airport.

Sorry about the disapointment with the matches for DH,glad you could focus on the trip.

Thank you I think my boys are pretty cute myself!!!

What's funny is when I say that room, I was like WOW it's huge and then I saw the bed,the 1 bed and DH was like o.k. It's still 1 bed and we both said with plenty of floor space!! Tyler chimed in I'll sleep on the bed and you guys can make a pallet or share the couch!!
So naturally we were like NO you will have the couch and Braeton can sleep with us. At least with a King size we could have all fit on the bed. We could NOT have done that very well on the Double! I still can't get over that. For a hotel like that to just have a double bed. You'd think thaey could spring for a Queen at least!!
And in answer to your questions.....No THIS flight stayed at the same time! And you'll have to wait and see on the rest!!!Thanks for the prayers for DH!!
