we're going to have a few points to rollover to next year - we have june use year so have until the end of nov to roll over to next year
what do i need when i call dvc? just our acct # and the #points we are rolling over? Do I need to keep track of anything else?
Would you make a different phone call to reserve next years vaca using next year's points to avoid confusion?

You are talking about banking points from this year into next year. Once banked, the points cannot be returned to the current use year. You will be given a banking number- I always save the number for my records.

You can certainly make a reservation using those points during the same phone call. Just reverify the point balance with each transaction. Should be no problem doing this with MS.

Good Luck!

Are you saying that you want to first bank some points to next year, and secondly make a reservation for next year using next year's points?

If I'm understanding you correctly, you might want to consider using those banked points for the reservation you are making. Points can only be banked one year. But if you don't use all of your next year's points, you can bank those to the following year. If you don't use all your banked points, you lose them.

You might want to consider doing your banking via e-mail. That way you have a written confirmation and don't need to spend time with the phone call. In any case, listen to Doc and be sure to write down the banking confirmation # and the number of points banked and keep it with your other DVC reservation information.

Do you guys use some sort of accounting ledger to keep track of all of this stuff?

I have next year's trips all booked. I had to borrow 8 points from my 2004-2005 use year for a trip at the end of 2003. So I don't have to bank any points next year. But when April 2004 comes around, I will be starting with 142 instead of 150 points.

Seems like it could get tricky keeping track of all of these numbers and confirmation numbers. I need a good accounting system. I don't want to lose a single point :D .

Our original 3 ring binder had a nice bookeeping page in it. I made copies of it and find it to be the easiest way to keep track. There is a place for recording all transaction numbers like banking numbers and reservation numbers.
