Rolled our rig! Pics added, page 4 FALSE ALARM, can't get the pix to post

Glad you are all ok!

BTW, was this the wreck right around exit 212 in Georgia? If not, someone else flipped a camper this week as well.

Once again, I am glad everyone is safe and sound!

No, we were at exit 116, Statesboro, on I-16. It happened about 1:40pm Friday.

I have sent you a PM. Please read. It might help you when it comes time to settle with the insurance company.

Trailer sway is my biggest fear when towing our camper. I know that DH and I can handle it and we know what to do to stop it (engage the brake controller only, ease off the gas), but it scares the bejeezus out of me - even if it is just small sway and inconsequential, like from a passing semi. I cannot stand that "tail wagging the dog" feeling. Small sway can lead to BIG sway which can be very, very bad as you saw.

Granted, we just pull a popup - a very large popup. It is light enough behind our SUV and we are well within our tow ratings. We use our sway bar faithfully on every trip. But I have seen too many camper wrecks on the side of the road to feel completely comfortable. I am confident in our ability, driving skills and knowledge of how to load the camper for the proper weight distribution. But boy, sometimes those semis scare me.

Minky, I am very glad you made it out to tell your story. The camper, truck and all the contents can be replaced, but your family cannot. See you on the road. :hippie:

OMG Minky, how very scary!! :scared1:

I am so relieved to hear you and your sweet family are alright, with exception of few stitches, some bumps and bruises. What an unusual accident,

can only imagine how frightening it all was and praise God no one was seriously injured...what a miracle!! Your :littleangel: was definitely doing her job!

Sending hugs and prayers that with some TLC everyone recovers physically, emotionally and mentally. Godspeed you and yours dearheart .

Wow, that's not far from me! I live in Savannah.

How is everyone today? They say it takes a couple of days for you to fully feel the bumps.

Amen to that. DH & I are breaking out in a cold sweat every time we drive our cars. Maybe a little PTSD to work out. We went to see some campers today and we are definitely not ready for that. But we still have all our old tent camping gear, so we're not put off of camping entirely. We're going back down the the holding facility tomorrow to retreive what we can. Our first thought was to just walk away from it, but I think we will be comforted by having some or our original stuff.

We were at Skidaway Island State Park for the week, had a fabulous time in Savannah and Tybee Island. It's too bad the ending overshadowed it all.

DD17s face looks better. Her elbow still hurts a lot. She has stitches so they're painful. My head, neck, and back still hurts and my rt shoulder is exquisitely painful--you should see the bruising; it's massive. I can't lift, push or pull with that arm. It even hurts to carry my purse on my forearm. I have an appt to have it all checked out at 2:30 today. I hope I haven't cracked the scapula or separated teh shoulder a little. I can't tell if it's the pain or the trauma that's exhausting me.
