Does anyone know if you can rent these from any vendor in the WDW area? Heading to WDW in 5 weeks and arthritis has flared. Don't really think I need an ECV because I can walk. Just after awhile I need to sit; knee starts to hurt. I have my cane, meds and a brace. But just thought of one of these things.

Any info would be appreciated.

Oh how I love the internet!!! ScootAround in Orlando rents Rollators. Will deliver to hotel and run $60 per week. The woman (Victoria) who helped said to call about a week ahead and schedule an appointment. She was very nice!!

You all have no idea how much pressure/stress this has taken off me. I don't have to worry now about this darn knee. I'm hoping however, that between the prescription meds, ice and not over doing it daily it'll calm down.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into this!

So glad you posted this! I too have the same issue, I can walk, but only good for a few hours, but if I walk and rest, I can do more... I had a knee scope that turns into needing a knee replaced and have to wait until I get enough FMLA . We had to cancel our trip in May because I had surgery unexpectedly 2 weeks before we were going and don't want to lose all the money. I know I'll be spending time at the pool, but want to do things at the parks too! I leave Saturday, so rental will be good for me!

Thanks!

I'm so glad that you can utilize this info! ScootAround has a nice website. Call now if you're leaving Saturday to reserve one. 888-441-7575 ext.6235. Victoria gave me the information and quoted $60 for the week. Please let me know how you make out! Have a great trip.

Thanks! I laugh at myself all the time anymore! Will be celebrating my 56th BD while there and I laugh and say it should be my 86th! Found another place while looking around...Amusementparkrentals.com for $40 for the week for a rollator, think I'll reserve from them.

Thanks for the good wishes and I'll let you know how thing go...Have my brace and need a cane...use a crutch, but don't want to take that.

Yes I'd like to know about this place too. May have to call for info. Well okay then! :cheer2: Have fun!

Care Medical Aldo rents rollators. They are one of the WDW designated companies that can drop off and pick up from Bell Services at the WDW resorts.

Only those designated companies are able to do that - others can deliver to your resort, but you need to be there for delivery and pick up.
You can find out more in post 2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread - follow the link in my signature or look near the top of this board.

As a previous poster mentioned, rollators are not that expensive to buy. You don't need to order one on line. Many stores like Costco, Walmart and pharmacies actually carry them.
If you are flying, you can bring it along and gate check it at no charge.

Thanks Sue for the info on the vendor. It's probably easier for me to rent if I need it as I "usually" have no problems walking. I have osteoarthritis in the knee and of course two weeks ago it reared it's ugly head. And with my trip in a few weeks I want to make sure that I have all bases covered. But i I will definitely check Care Medical out. :thumbsup2

I just returned from an amazing 8 night stay at the Boardwalk and wanted to comment on the rental of the Rollator.

I did rent a Rollator from amusementparkrental.com. And while they are not a "designated vendor" their service was excellent. I would definitely rent again from them should the need arise.

I'm happy to say that even thought I had the device I did NOT have to use it. I don't feel I wasted $40 because if my knee really bothered me and the brace just wasn't making it, I had the device.

But I wanted to say "thanks" to all who offered advice to me prior to my trip. Now I begin planning the next one!

I'm so glad you had a great visit! Wish I could have been there too! For the price and the service, you couldn't beat Amusement Park Rentals. They dropped off and picked up when scheduled and were very friendly! Glad I had mine and equally glad you didn't have to use yours! Donna

Thanks for the report.
It's always better to have something you don't need than to need something you don't have.:thumbsup2
