Roll Call for Pop Century - October 2012

We'll be there from the 8th to the 13th. This time around, we'll be celebrating my own birthday (the 20th anniversary of my 21st birthday!), as well as celebrating the arrival of our "Littlest Princess", who just came into the world 4 days ago!

I'm wondering, with the other POP vets out there, what would be the best REQUEST for placement in the resort with an infant?

We'll be staying at POP for the first time Oct 7-13. :goodvibes
My mom, my daughter (5) and I. It will be my daughter's first visit to Disney.
We will be flying in from Curacao.

Hi Everyone,
Hubby and I will be traveling 10/15-10/21. We are celebrating 20 years!!! This will be our first stay at POP and I was lucky enough to get a code for free dining. Also a first for MNNSHP. :woohoo:

Hope everyone has a magical trip!!!:wizard:

Sorry it took so long to respond. I missed this for some reason. lol. Thank you for the congrats. It's only our 8 yr so not a big one. But still special anyways. Can't wait for October to come. Only 126 more days. :)

Aangel, Congratulations on your 20th anniversary!! :cheer2: This is our first stay at Pop as well.

Knovacovschi - it's so much fun to count down the days - hooray for October and being in Disney. To me, each wedding anniversary is like a reinforcement of our family - our marriage created a family and each anniversary makes it that much stronger in an insecure world.

Happy Planning!! pixiedust:

We LOVE Pop soooo much and have been there many times!! In fact,we will be back there in 2 days!! :cool1:
We may go back in Oct. for MNSSHP because the one and only time we did the party it rained like crazy! :headache:

pixiedust: Happy Planning!!

Congratulations on the arrival of your little princess!

You silly goose...this is the Pop Century roll call thread!:rotfl:

Not sure how I missed this thread, but we will be at POP Oct. 26-Nov. 4. This will be our 4th year in a row at POP.

138 more days!:goodvibes

What a great picture of your family in their Halloween costumes! Do you have any helpful information/hints that you can share with the folks on this thread like me who are staying at Pop for the very first time? I also subscribe to the Groovy Pop Century Thread FAQ #6, so I've read through that as well.
Thanks
LL

Thanks for the kind words! :goodvibes The best advice I can give is just to take a little bit of time to explore the grounds. There are lots of photo ops around. Though, with the opening of AoA, I would also suggest taking a stroll across the bridge for those great photo ops, too. Also, while not specific to POP, another tip is that if you are on the dining plan and eating at the resort, be sure to get a bottled drink with your drink entitlement and use your mug during your meal. Especially now that there are fridges in every room. We found this especially handy when getting back to POP after midnight or even just when we were too tired to make a refill run. Also, if you are on the dining plan, you can get your meal receipt stamped and get dessert at the ice cream shop within an hour or so of your meal. They have AWESOME brownie sundaes (and tons of other yummy treats!). They can also be ordered using a snack credit. The ice cream shop is my favorite part of POP. :goodvibes

Also, be sure to check out all of the shadow boxes in the lobby of Classic Hall. There are tons of old toys from each decade. It was fun showing the kids what toys we played with when we were little. :goodvibes

Smitch, thanks so much for the helpful suggestions. I think it is a great idea to get a bottled beverage with a meal. I've had gastric bypass surgery and as a result I can't eat and drink at the same meal, so rather than bypass a drink all together, I will get a bottled beverage and save it for later. I'm looking forward to a walk over the bridge to AOA - the pictures look amazing and I spotted a gelatto bar, which would be a perfect snack for me.

I can't wait for October :woohoo:

Whew! I'm glad I found you guys. Just booked for Oct. 19-24 at Pop.

It seems a lot of us will be celebrating anniversaries! We are celebrating our 20th on the 22nd. We did our honeymoon at Disney, so we like October!

This will be our first time at Pop and our first time without my mom (well, except for the honeymoon.). Really looking forward to it being just us!

This is our first trip staying at Pop, too. Just counting down the days at this point.

I added a day to the front of our stay so we are now arriving on the 18th! I had to do a room only b/c my free dining starts on the 19th - but I'll be in the World a day early! :goodvibes

Isn't it nice to be able to get another day at Disney? I'm so glad it worked out for you.
