Is it possible to see ROL without a Fastpass? If so, any tips on how to make sure we get seats? How early do we need to get to the viewing area?
Yes.Is it possible to see ROL without a Fastpass?
If only one showing that evening, you will want to be in the standby line at least 1 hour prior to showtime. If so, any tips on how to make sure we get seats? How early do we need to get to the viewing area?
You definitely CAN!There is a second showing however it is during EMH and we are not staying onsite. So I'm assuming we can't stay to see the second showing?

You definitely CAN!
Fantasmic! and RoL when performed during PM EMH are "exceptions" to the "no attractions" rule for non-PM EMH eligible Guests.
You can also shop and eat during PM EMH.
You can "most likely" just "walk-up" at any time.Oh that's awesome! Then I guess we will plan on trying standby for the second showing. Do you know what time we need to head to the standby area for the second showing?

The Cast Members are "usually" "begging" Guests to come in for the second show.![]()
I had a FP for ROL [2nd showing] the night of July 6th. When I saw everyone lining up around 9:45, I panicked a little. I asked a CM if we really needed to get in line to get a good seat. She laughed and said [paraphrasing] "absolutely not; show up a few minutes before the show starts and get a seat". Sure enough, even though we went ahead and got seated about 30 minutes before the show, the theater never even filled up. My DH wasn't too thrilled with me for having stopped him from touring the park to get a seat.We were in AK a week ago. We did RoL (first show). It was packed. I think Pandora brings more people into AK now, so there's more people looking for things to do.I'm curious to hear the answers you receive. I'm wondering if RoL is still as popular now that Pandora has opened? I'm not sure it ever became what they were hoping it would be?
No,it hasn't.I'm not sure it ever became what they were hoping it would be?
Well, yes, there are a few. But, you'll still be waiting an hour to see the show from there (standing). Since those locations are not tiered, you can't see well if you're in the 3rd or 4th row. And there's no seating. So, if you are going on an evening that only has one showing, and you don't have a FP and don't want to wait in line for over an hour, are there any places in the park you can view the show outside of the theater?
I actually meant outside of the theater. Can you even see it if you are not in the actual theater? Can you see it anywhere on that side of the park or across the water by Flame Tree?Well, yes, there are a few. But, you'll still be waiting an hour to see the show from there (standing). You can see, at those locations that you can see the "lake" along the walkway. But, of course, you're not seeing the "front" of the show.I actually meant outside of the theater.
