ROFR wait, how did you get through it?

For those of you who bought a re-sale what did you do during the awful wait time???? I think Disney got our papers yesterday so I have a LONG road ahead of waiting, any tips on how to get through it without anxiety? Is there any specific criteria that needs to me met so they won't exercise their ROFR? *sigh* I'm stressed just thinking about it.

Good luck- try to relax.
We just heard on the 13th that we passed. Signed the papers on 12/27, so about 2 weeks. I wasn't that stressed, but it was an add-on for us and would not have been the end of the world if we didn't pass.
As far as criteria goes-???
I have heard it's best for buyer to pay closing costs and maint. fees.

Our papers went to Disney yesterday as well......TTS told us it would probably be around 17 - 20 days until we heard something.......

I really feel that Disney won't use their ROFR, but it still doesn't make the wait any easier....

If Disney does buy the contract, they need to abide by the terms of the agreement, which means they have to pay closing costs and fees. It's a better deal for them if the seller is paying such things.

HI!!

Okay, we're in the waiting period. Just heard back that owners accepted our offer. Don't have contract in hand to sign yet, but couldn't pass on the resort that we wanted, use year, and minimum points that I needed.
Now, still has to pass ROFR...
I have a June trip planned that we may be able to use points with. Probably too close. Definitely will be going back last week of August-1st week Sept. Planning on banking the rest to go back to WDW December 06!!
I'm sooo excited!! *Also, know that Disney can buy back points for whatever reason.
Can't believe DH agreed to it. Even mentioned a larger contract to him, and he would have bought. Hmmmm, wonder what he's bought recently that he hasn't told me about....
Still don't know much about banking points, borrowing, renting more if needed etc.... Glad this board is here!!

we waited it out in WDW...........we went to WDW when we added on the last three times and it made it very tolerable..............does not matter how long..........just go and your anxiety just goes cause you know you and yours will be here for a long time to come.............

I'll be in WDW during part of the waiting period. I'll hear back if we passed ROFR during my stay there. I'm already thinking that it would have been best to wait for a larger contract, so I'd only have to go through this once!!
Have you added onto your contract with different resorts? Does it matter if you don't plan to book before 7 months out?

well i own ever resort to get the 11 month window at the peak times........the 7 month window is no longer a big issue..........we bought at SSR and BW just to get GV at the tough times

I can understand the maintenance fees matter, but what does Disney care about who pays for closing costs? If Disney exercises its ROFR, it would just buy the contract and handle its own closing, right? The closing company would not have rendered any services. No??

DVC resells at the 89 price point and they know precisely day to day what demand is based upon the waitlist............that is how they set the ROFR price.........it changes as demand changes

My ordeal just started today!! Can't imagine getting through the next 6 weeks!!

By the way, VWL was on my radar screen since I love WL the most for Christmas. Need to try other resorts though.

Can't imagine staying anywhere else for Christmas. Minnie and Mickey were in the Lobby on Christmas Eve!! Didn't expect it**Felt like home to me**

Will hopefully add on VWL points in the future...If I can get through this purchase though!!
