It's because of all that stuff happened with it and the multi-use code that got spread around.

But I thought that they took away the wells that were from the code. Not sure why they changed the value then.

They changed the value THEN took out the wells but never bothered to put the price back

I'd say it's because they don't want you to depend on the wells as a source of credits.. because it's very easy to get more than one.

It's not really that easy to get a ton of them at Disneyland, is it? Every time I've been, you had to ask a CM for one. Or am I just hitting the kiosk too late in the day?

If I remember correctly, the new pirate rooms also have the same resale value.

As Nanoer says, they changed the resale values on the new Pirate quest items during the code problems they had and never changed them.
