Has anyone stayed at the Rodeway Inn on International Drive. This is the first time we are staying offsite and doing Universal Studios. We have stayed onsite and did Disney several times but this time our goal is to do all the non-Disney stuff we never do when we are caught up in the Disney life. We are doing Universal, Busch Gardens, Sea World and Kennedy Space Center. My question is... has anyone stayed at this Rodeway? We are not looking for anything fancy. It looks nice and has a refrigerator and microwave in the room. I made reservations for 8 nights in August. They seem really nice and helpful on the phone. I called one of the tourist places to send me some brochures on all the other parks and I asked her what she thought of it and she said it was not fancy but was a nice place to stay. Just looking for some thoughts.

Thanks for your help!

We stayed at the Rodeway last year, it is a no frills hotel but you only get what you pay for. It was clean, the staff were lovely and helpful. They also do a nice buffet breakfast. The pool is pretty small and can get quite crowed but other than that I give this hotel the bigs thumbs up. If you have any other questions please feel free to pm me.

I stayed here about 3 years ago. The chairs seemed like the came from the 60's, but the hotel was nice. It's in an area of I-Drive that can get congested on Friday and Saturday nights (it'll be easier to walk than drive during these times), but it's a good no-frills hotel.

We had a horrible experience there - bad enough that I won't stay at a Rodeway Inn anywhere! The walls were so paper thin that I heard the guy in the bathroom that backed up to us doing, well, what you normally do in the bathroom. I literally could have been standing in the room with him - the sound was that clear. It was so disgusting!! We could hear everything being said next door, and we got absolutely no sleep because of all of the noise outside of the room. We called the front desk - it was a group of teenagers who were hanging out on the balcony until 2:00 or 3:00 - they did absolutely nothing - even said, "There's nothing we can do." You couldn't pay me to stay there again!

We stayed two nightas at the Rodeway Inn, the first and last nights of our trip (the others we stayed at various Disney resorts). The first room was dingy and old looking but seemed clean enough at 1am. On our last night, the room smelled terrible and the door was difficult to open and shut. Again, we checked in very late and were leaving early in the am. We will definately never stay there again! If you can find another place to stay at a similar price, I would recommend it.
