Today, the weather almost hit 70 degrees and with the sun out and all of USF done and most of IOA I went over to Toon Lagoon (Dudley down for rehab) with my white non-cotton north face t-shirt, bathing suit (not a speedo ), and tevas

Went on the Barges 8 times in a row - had only intende to go 2 times but then ran into a family group from Tampa who had gone 4 times and were going again so I went with them twice - they were a funny group. After that as I was as wet as I could get, I went with a group of people all wearing jeans and shirts - they got soaked! I was up to 6 and feeling very soggy and starting to get slight shivers. Then I said, ok lets g for lucky 7 - on the 7th ride, ended up with a bunch of young teens and pre-teens and kids - they were having a great time and were making me laugh a lot as well - they decided to go around again and they were such a fun bunch I did as well (we did not even get out of the raft as the lines were non-existent by 4:40pm). On the 8th time, I acually managed to get wetter than I already was.

By this time I had more shivers and the sun was losing its warmth so I packed it in and sloshed out of IOA like a wet rat.

What a great ride, and was lucky to run into a bunch of fun people on the ride as well.

thanks

The slow season is great for rerides. Glad to hear you're having so much fun. :)

That's great that it was warm enough to ride once, much less 8 times! It is great fun to ride with people who are wearing jeans, especially when they really don't think that THEY will get wet. Of course they end up drenched. hehehe

Did you wear your Tevas around all day or just put them on for the ride? I was wondering if I should bring my Straprunners and my DSs water shoes. I'll make sure that I have clothes on that dry quickly when we go to IoA and a change of clothes for my son.

Brrrrr, all I can think of is shiver me tenders....:hyper:

Yeah, rub it in, 70 degrees... grrrrrrr....

How fun! I rode last weekend but only once (there was actually a small line). We rode Ripsaw Falls twice though. The temps were around 70 the day we rode too so I know what you mean about being warm enough yet having the shivers as the sun went down.

We rode the barges 6 times in a row one evening last summer after it had rained. There were no lines. We kept riding with another family and had the BEST time. I love meeting up with other people having as much fun as we are!

Wow! 8 times! Sounds like you are having too much fun!

Girls just wanna have fuuuun oh, girls just wanna have fuuunn!!! Wooooooo! :teeth:

Temp was mid/low 60s. Rode oncewith my 10 yr old, and my 5 yr old. We all just about froze to death. Soaked to the bone. But it really is great cold - pain - and fun. I never understand why people go on rides like that, or Jurassic Park, or Ripsaw, etc. and wear ponchos. They are missing out on the sufferance and fun in life....

That would be my wife. We did it when it was open for HHN and I had to buy her a poncho or she wouldn't go.

I wear a poncho sometimes - doesn't spoil the ride for me one bit. I think ponchos are a great idea especially when you want to say go to Mythos for lunch and don't want to walk in like a drowned rat!! If I'm having a "WET" day, then I'll dress accordingly and "STRIP" to the bare minimum for the ride - but other days will wear a poncho, just depends.
