Rocket Launch Advice

I've subscribed with Kennedy Space Centre and there are two rocket launches when we're there.

Are they worth seeing - I mean where else will I see one. If it is worth it, what's the best way? Where should we go? How bad is the traffic?

Do it, its well worth it. We saw one from Cocoa beach last summer. Its just one of those experiences in life that you will remember.

Be warned though, they can get cancelled, and at short notice, and ours was at 2 in the morning, was ok as we were staying at cocoa for the week, but I doubt I would have got up and drove at that time from Disney area.

When are you going, I am there at Christmas and was going to check the schedule.

You can see a launch from KSC itself. You get bussed to a big field about 4 miles from the launch site (sounds a lot but florida is flat and this is the closest you're going to get unless you're family or Nasa). Check out this link for info:

We went last trip and after waiting a couple of hours the launch was cancelled, 2nd try it was cancelled as well and 3rd try we watched from the parking lot at DD We saw the shuttle and heard the boom!

The tickets are valid for all attempts until the one where it finally goes up. you can order over the net and they will send them to your hotel.

If you're planning to visit KSC anyway I would go for it, bring a lot of patience, some munchies and something to sit on!!
