Official Disneyland Rock Your Disney Side 24-hour Event - 5/23-24/14

Anyone know if they are going to have special merchandise or giveaways to the first X amount of people. My son is dying to get some special items. I told him forget about it and concentrate on staying up 24+ hrs lol

And any special food items, that's for me lol

I did NOT go to the leap day event held only in DL, which was CRAZY, CRAZY, CRAZY, from what I hear from all who went, but I was there last year for the Memorial weekend event at BOTH parks on a DCA grad night. It was not crazy at all. I don't know if the Leap day the previous year had scared everyone away, but it never got to capacity, and the lines were not anything worse than a normal Friday night crowd. It was totally manageable.

I want to go so bad, my 50th Birthday is the 23 of May...I think its a sign my family should bring me;)

You're absolutely right, MinnieLovesMickey, they should. It's also my twin daughters' 19th BD, and we'd planned to go even before the 24 hour party was announced...no good deed goes unpunished popcorn::

Happy almost-birthday!

I am going to be attending my first Disneyland 24 hour event next week! Can't wait! But looking for more information if anyone can help!

1. Will there be extra shows or Meet and Greets? Specifically Anna and Elsa. If rope drop is at 6 am, do I really have to rush to the line even if they don't come out until 9? What would be the best strategy to see them?

2. How early will Fast Passes sell out for World of Color at 3 am?

3. Will any rare characters be out and about?

4. Anything else special going on that I shouldn't miss? The website does not have many details other than it's a costume party.

5. Is this the first year California Adventure will also be open 24 hours? Will it still be easy to hop between parks?

6. No kids on this trip, just me and my boyfriend! What should we make a priority when we get there? Which park should we start at?

7. Radiator Springs. We're ok with using single rider line. Is it that much faster or will it still be hours in line? Faster than waiting in line for a fast pass?

I have only been to Disneyland once so I am so excited to go back and try all these new things! Luckily I have 24 hours to fit in as much as I can!!! Please help me answer any of the questions above. I realize it's a lot! ha Thanks!

There will be a schedule printed that day, there will probably be extra meet and greets. I highly doubt Anna and Elsa will be on the list, but it's possible. At the last 2 events FP was not available past normal operating hours, so there will probably not be FP for the 3am show. DCA was open 24 hours last time, but parts were only for the grad party. RSR FP is usually faster than SR. I've been in SR when it was a little faster, but since they started with return times for guests using the FP line as an alternate entrance and a few other things the FP return times have shortened. The standby line will probably be hours long most of the day. They return times are available at the attraction entrance, you can see the difference when you get there.

I am going too! No kids for us either this trip. If you see a couple in TRON costumes, that's us! LOL. Anyway.....here's another great thread with some info:

I sure wish Disney would tell us a bit more. DH and I are going into this with no set plans, just a BB dinner reservation at 5:00 in case food lines are crazy!

Ugh....I'm i the ONLY person not looking forward to this 24 hour event?!? The only reason I'm going is cause our DL vacation was already planned during this time! :rolleyes2

I'm really kind of worried about the crowd level! Oh well....what can I do? :rolleyes1

I'm with you. I'm not looking forward to the 24 hour thing and the high crowd level. We had already planned our trip, prior to the 24 hour announcement being made. Oh well, just going to roll with it and see what happens.

I went to the Leap Day event in 2012. It was crazy, and we spent 3 hours in line for Star Tours, but it was still fun and we are planning on going to this 24-hour event as well. We have our reservations at a cheap hotel within walking distance. I'm really excited.

I did a little write-up on our Disneyland Leap Day trip. It's on my website at

Just scroll about halfway down, and you will see my trip report for Feb. 29th.

Thanks Crystal1313 for posting the link. For anyone who was there last year, at what point in the evening did they open the parks back up?

We're thinking of doing the 12:30 parade and then heading over to DCA for the 3 am showing of WoC, but if the parks are still at capacity at 1 or 2 am, we might be tempted to stay at DCA for most of the evening. If we have to make choice between parade or WoC, we'll go with WoC. Thanks for any advice.

Sure! I know, I'm curious about park hopping and crowd capacity too. I don't want to leave a park to find out both are at capacity and be stuck. Will the CM's know at the main gates?

Maybe I'm being a big laxadazle about it. But since the parks didn't reach capacity last year. Even with grad night going on. I'm not concerned about it happening this year.

But I would think if they did either they would be warning guests. Or you would be able to tell. I watched a few vids of the Leap Year Event in prep for last years and since no one was going in from the outside fairly well is a tell take sign. I would think that would be a huge neon sign to not leave the park you are currently in unless getting stranded for an hour of two until they determine it's no longer at capacity.

My question is will the park still be accessible around 6:30 pm? We have to check in at our hotel and are planning on taking a nap

No one knows...last year yes, the first year, for leap day, it was not. I'm sure you can find info day of on here or twitter and decide if that nap may make you miss getting into the parks

I'll be there. Still deciding on my costume, but I've narrowed it down to 3.

I'm expecting it to be very crowded, so my plan for better or for worse is to enjoy being at Disneyland much longer than normal when it's dark out. I may be riding the nap rides more often. :lmao:
