Rock On!! Because Devil Horns Do Belong at Disney. An Oct TR Updated 9/5 x10!

I've never seen the trains in Italy; another thing I have to make sure I check out.

Ugh how dissapointing about the pretzel bread! I'm so sorry the meal wasn't to your liking, bu at least Jim enjoyed it so it wasn't a total waste.

Jim and his shirts :rotfl:

Great Pluto purchases!

I'm sorry you didn't get the alone time you wanted.

Your pick a pearl necklace is beautiful!!

Haha can't believe Jim used up the rest of the snack credits!

Oh Ariana, I KNEW as soon as I saw that you were headed to Biergarten that it would not be to your liking. :sad1: We actually LOVE Biergarten, but we are adventurous eaters on the whole. :thumbsup2 You didn't even get to see the band, that could have been a redeeming factor for you, because they really are great and put on a fun show. :upsidedow

LOVE your Pick a Pearl necklace!!! I love my Cinderella coach necklace, I wear it very often, and get complimented on it every time I wear it. :cutie:

Ariana, I'm all caught up again...but probably will forget what I wanted to comment on so I'll just make some random comments.

Love the necklace you have for your Pick a Pearl (I am determined to do that one of these trips).

I won't go back to Biergaraten. Mark and I LOVE German food, but we found the food here to be fair at best on our last trip (and we used to go every other year) and will not spend the money (we have much better German restaurants here at home).

I'm glad Jim didn't get lost, but sorry you didn't get a little bit of your "alone time."

I wonder why the PP only two two shots at the Visa shoot?

I've decided to alter our September plans as I don't want to be anywhere near F&W on a weekend. We've never been and I do want to go, but I will make it a week day in the afternoon. I am not dealing with those kinds of crowds.

I love how the housekeeper set up your animals. I have found that towel animals are a lot less frequent that they used to be at all the resorts.

Great updates!! I keep falling behind! Lol!!

Love the necklace, it's super cute!!

I do still want to eat at biergarten, i'd only hope that who i'm sat with is fun lol!!

BOOOOOOOOOOO the park days are over!!!

I love the pick a pearl I see the price was about 16.00??? may i ask what the setting was? are they priced differently? I really want to do this with Meg..

glad Jim was able to 'feel' better but at least you had about 15 minutes of alone time! :lmao:
I don't know what alone time is..... :thumbsup2 next time at epcot and the lights on the ground? Put the camera at different angels to get some really cool shots...

We will be doing Biergarten for the first time.. I hope we like it! im sad you didn't get to see the band! i did NOT know about the seating arrangements. I will feel sorry for whoever sits with us. Unless they like to have a good time.. If the not so happy people sit with us they will be in for it... :lmao:

Glad you got your ice cream sammich... :thumbsup2

As for Jim.. Mr. I don't like Disney (whatever :sad2:) Closet case... At least you know where he stands and can make the next trip even more fun for him!!!! You should take him to star wars weekend!!! popcorn::

What gorgeous blue skies for your Epcot day! Your park map necklaces are very pretty. It is nice to have some Disney things that aren't so obviously Disney.

It was a beautiful day and I just love my necklaces!

I've never eaten at Biergarten for the same reasons as you. I eat next to no meat, and I'm really picky with salads & things that I can't see exactly what they are made of. I'm glad that you found something to eat though, and now you can check it off of your list of restaurants you've been to.

Yeah, you would probably struggle there then too.

I love your Ariel necklace, very pretty!

Thanks!

I've never seen the trains in Italy; another thing I have to make sure I check out.

They are actually between Germany and Italy. There are tons of details in the little miniture town and they change them out around the holidays. Very interesting to check out!

Ugh how dissapointing about the pretzel bread! I'm so sorry the meal wasn't to your liking, bu at least Jim enjoyed it so it wasn't a total waste.

That pretzel bread was nasty especially after having the Le Cellier version. I'm sure most people would have been fine, I'm just super picky.

Jim and his shirts :rotfl:

I know, he definitely has more t-shrits than he needs. I brought him yet another one home in February and I'm going to guess he will buy at least one next week. :rotfl:

Great Pluto purchases!

Thanks, I love shopping in that store.

I'm sorry you didn't get the alone time you wanted.

Ah well, I've got a solo trip planned for the fall so I will get lots of time then!

Your pick a pearl necklace is beautiful!!

I don't know which one I like more, that one or the Cinderella's carriage I bought on a previous trip.

Haha can't believe Jim used up the rest of the snack credits!

I know, what a pig. :rotfl2: He had quite the breakfast the next day.

:upsidedow

I was disappointed we didn't get to see more of the band. I went into the meal knowing I would struggle but sometimes we have to sacrifice for family!

LOVE your Pick a Pearl necklace!!! I love my Cinderella coach necklace, I wear it very often, and get complimented on it every time I wear it. :cutie:

I've got th Cinderella one too, I love wearing both of them!

Ariana, I'm all caught up again...but probably will forget what I wanted to comment on so I'll just make some random comments.

I still haven't made it over to your PTR to get caught up. The only reason I'm working on this TR right now is because I need to get it finished before we leave next week!

Love the necklace you have for your Pick a Pearl (I am determined to do that one of these trips).

You should, it's a lot of fun!

I won't go back to Biergaraten. Mark and I LOVE German food, but we found the food here to be fair at best on our last trip (and we used to go every other year) and will not spend the money (we have much better German restaurants here at home).

I probably won't go back either unless Jim wants to eat there again. I guess I can sacrifice a bit for him.

I'm glad Jim didn't get lost, but sorry you didn't get a little bit of your "alone time."

I was glad he didn't get lost too because knowing him it would not have been hard. I'll get my alone time this fall as I'm planning a solo trip.

I wonder why the PP only two two shots at the Visa shoot?

I wish I knew, probably just the difference in the Photographers. Some take a ton and others only a few.

I've decided to alter our September plans as I don't want to be anywhere near F&W on a weekend. We've never been and I do want to go, but I will make it a week day in the afternoon. I am not dealing with those kinds of crowds.

That is probably a good idea, it was a bit crazy that afternoon and evening!

I love how the housekeeper set up your animals. I have found that towel animals are a lot less frequent that they used to be at all the resorts.

I've gotten some towel animals before but nothing the last two trips.

Great updates!! I keep falling behind! Lol!!

No worries, I haven't visited anyone elses thread in a while. I'm only working on this one because I'm determined to get it done before we go next week!

Love the necklace, it's super cute!!

Thanks!

I do still want to eat at biergarten, i'd only hope that who i'm sat with is fun lol!!

I think the meal would have been a lot more fun if the people sitting next to us were friendlier. As for the food, well I'm just picky, I think most people would find plenty to eat.

BOOOOOOOOOOO the park days are over!!!

Yeah, last days suck don't they?

I love the pick a pearl I see the price was about 16.00??? may i ask what the setting was? are they priced differently? I really want to do this with Meg..

Yes, the price to just pick a pearl is $17. Then the settings are all priced differently. There are silver and gold settings and of course the gold ones are very pricy. I found the silver settings to be reasonably priced but I can't remember exactly how much. There is a whole tread on the DIS dedicated to Pick a Pearl and they list some of the prices there. Of course, you don't have to get the pearl set, I actually have two that I never did anything with, they are just in bags in my jewelry box. Maybe someday I'll have them made into something.

glad Jim was able to 'feel' better but at least you had about 15 minutes of alone time! :lmao:

I was happy for him too, I know how frustrated he gets with that whole situation.

I don't know what alone time is..... :thumbsup2 next time at epcot and the lights on the ground? Put the camera at different angels to get some really cool shots...

That sounds like it would make some great pictures, I'll have to try it!

We will be doing Biergarten for the first time.. I hope we like it! im sad you didn't get to see the band! i did NOT know about the seating arrangements. I will feel sorry for whoever sits with us. Unless they like to have a good time.. If the not so happy people sit with us they will be in for it... :lmao:

I think it would be a blast to sit with you guys! I'm sure you'll find plenty to eat, I'm just super picky.

Glad you got your ice cream sammich... :thumbsup2

As for Jim.. Mr. I don't like Disney (whatever :sad2:) Closet case... At least you know where he stands and can make the next trip even more fun for him!!!! You should take him to star wars weekend!!! popcorn::

We almost went to Star Wars weekends this year. I wanted to do Flower and Garden and the last weekend of that (May 17 - 18) overlaps with the first weekend of Star Wars. Unfortunately I couldn't get the time off of work to go later in the month.

So sad, our departure day had finally arrived. Normally I like to take the latest flight out so I can get some last minute magic in, but we wanted to pick up the babies on the way home so our flight was around 2 pm. We got up around 7 am, packed and headed out to check our bags at 9 am. The bag check and DME area at CSR is kind of a mess. It’s a really small area and was hard to figure out where the lines were for bag check and who was just waiting around for the bus. We figured it out though and got our bags checked and boarding passes printed.

I had planned on walking around the whole resort but Jim wanted to go back to the room so he could answer some e-mails so we slowly walked back that way. I procrastinated a bit by taking pictures which included a whole bunch of flower pictures.

First of all, the lobby where all the lucky people were just checking in for their stay.

Laguna Bar:

The Marina:

Across the lake looking at the Casita buildings:

Cabanas where we stayed:

This little guy was hanging out right were we saw the snake a few days before. Hope he was keeping an eye out!

Final picture from the trip:

We made it back to the room and Jim worked for about an hour and I caught up on my journal. We caught the Un-Magical Express with no problems but it was weird because we had a plain yellow Mears bus. So no Disney video on the way back, we ended up watching America’s Funniest Home Videos instead. We stopped at Pop Century where there was a bit of a problem because there were too many people and not enough space on the bus. Not sure who was doing the scheduling that day but they messed up. Luckily we were already on the bus but I felt bad for the families left behind.

I don’t really remember anything special about the flight home so I’m guessing it was uneventful. We made it home, picked up the babies at the doggie spa and that is the end.

Up Next: A Quick Preview for May

Departure day :(

Great pics, love all the flowers.

No Disney video on the way to the airport?! That makes it so much sadder!

Yet another great TR from you! Loved reading it and glad you have another TR on the horizon :goodvibes

Awe, the end of a really fun TR!!! So sad, you didn't get to even watch Disney videos on the bus to the airport. :worried:

I bet your babies were so happy to see mommy and daddy!

Great TR, Ariana!!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the tour of CSR! Honestly, I think reading your tr this time around has made me think that I need to stay there again, just not solo! Lol. It wasn't great the first time for me, but I'll always give things a second chance lol!

Boourns to the VERY unmagical express lol!

Oh my goodness I'll bet your puppies were SO happy to see ya'll after vacation!! :lovestruc

Loved this TR Ariana I hope to see you in the fall doubt will see you next week sorry Call email will have to do for the time being Miss you

If you ever find yourself at Biergarten again the cheddar cheese beer soup is fabulous, maybe Jim would like it ?

Nice new Plutos Hug the furbabies and if the shelter does do a Year of the Horse item please let me know :thumbsup2

Great updates. So sad......last moments at the park and departure day.

The flowers at CSR are gorgeous.

At least May isn't too far away.

Thanks for sharing your trip.

Boo departure day! All in all it seems like you had a great trip. CSR isn't my favourite resort but it really is pretty and you got some great shots on your walk :)

What a great end to your trip - I really enjoyed these last pictures! Your resort looks so beautiful... Acutally - all Disney resorts look so beautiful... I would love to be there riht now.

Looking forward to your May preview!

Thanks for such a great TR! I loved it!

D~

Your final pictures are making me very homesick for the Coronado. The flowers are just stunning.

I'm glad the flight home was uneventful and you got your furbabies.

Departure day :(

Great pics, love all the flowers.

The were very beautiful!

No Disney video on the way to the airport?! That makes it so much sadder!

You know, it actually didn't for me. It was the Disney video that made me sad so watching AFV instead kind of made me forget about leaving.

Yet another great TR from you! Loved reading it and glad you have another TR on the horizon :goodvibes

Thanks! 7 days to go!

Awe, the end of a really fun TR!!! So sad, you didn't get to even watch Disney videos on the bus to the airport. :worried:

That video always makes me sadder than I already am so while it was weird, it wasn't all bad.

I bet your babies were so happy to see mommy and daddy!

Yes they were!

Great TR, Ariana!!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks!

Thanks for the tour of CSR! Honestly, I think reading your tr this time around has made me think that I need to stay there again, just not solo! Lol. It wasn't great the first time for me, but I'll always give things a second chance lol!

I will say that it wasn't really my favorite. I liked CBR much better when Mom and I stayed there in 2012.

Boourns to the VERY unmagical express lol!

It was weird but at least they gave us something to watch.

Oh my goodness I'll bet your puppies were SO happy to see ya'll after vacation!! :lovestruc

They definitely were! They get excited if we come back after 5 minutes so you can imagine what it's like after a week!

Loved this TR Ariana I hope to see you in the fall doubt will see you next week sorry Call email will have to do for the time being Miss you

 So sad we won't get to see you next week but I do understand why. We will miss you!

If you ever find yourself at Biergarten again the cheddar cheese beer soup is fabulous, maybe Jim would like it ?

I will have to recommend it to him. As for me, cheese is another no no so I'd probably have to skip it. Being picky and having some minor digestive issues really sucks sometimes.

Nice new Plutos Hug the furbabies and if the shelter does do a Year of the Horse item please let me know :thumbsup2

I will definitely let you know if they do anything.

Great updates. So sad......last moments at the park and departure day.

It is a sad time but it wasn't as bad this time because I knew I would be back again in February.

The flowers at CSR are gorgeous.

I think they are gorgeous every where at WDW!

At least May isn't too far away.

7 days to go!!!

Thanks for sharing your trip.

You are welcome, thanks for following along.

Boo departure day! All in all it seems like you had a great trip. CSR isn't my favourite resort but it really is pretty and you got some great shots on your walk :)

It isn't my favorite either. I would say of the three moderates I've stayed at (CSR, CBR and POR) it's probably my least favorite.

What a great end to your trip - I really enjoyed these last pictures! Your resort looks so beautiful... Acutally - all Disney resorts look so beautiful... I would love to be there riht now.

Thanks! I think we would all rather be at WDW right now!

Looking forward to your May preview!

Coming right up!

Thanks for such a great TR! I loved it!

D~

You are welcome, thanks for following along.

Your final pictures are making me very homesick for the Coronado. The flowers are just stunning.

They are very beautiful there and all over WDW aren't they?

I'm glad the flight home was uneventful and you got your furbabies.

It was nice to get home and hug the furbabies!

Since the trip next week is so short, I’m just going to tack the TR for those three days onto the end of this TR. So how did this trip come about? When I decided to upgrade to an AP in February, I started thinking about when I might go back so that I could get some use out of the AP. At the time I was planning on going back in November for a solo trip but also wanted at least one more weekend out of the AP. I started thinking about the Flower and Garden festival. I had been during it in 2011 and just missed it in 2013. I decided to go back again this year especially since they have added food booths since 2011.

This was meant to be a quick solo trip but I did ask Jim to be polite. When I went solo in 2013, I didn’t ask him because I never thought he would want to go. Well, even though he did not want to go, he got mad at me for not asking. So this time I did ask and much to my surprise he said yes! So he will be joining me for the quick weekend. I think he’s mostly going because he wants to shop at the Lego store again.

My original plans included a split day between HS and AK but since Jim didn’t like AK, we won’t be going there. I also didn’t want to buy a Park Hopper for him for just one day. So what will we be doing during this trip? Here’s a brief preview:

Dates: Friday, May 2nd – Monday, May 5th
Resort: Preferred Room at Port Orleans Riverside

Thursday, May 1st, 2014

I work this day so as soon as I get home, we will be taking the babies to our vets where we board them. The get an extra-large luxury suite with a bed and TV so we call it the “doggie spa”. We normally don’t like to leave them overnight when we are home but our flight is very early the next day. That evening, I will finish packing and try to get to bed early.

Friday, May 2nd, 2014

We will be up very early on this day. Our plane leaves Atlanta at 7:55 am and lands in Orlando at 9:20 am. We will catch the Magical Express to POR and check in. I’m hoping to be entering Epcot by 11 am but it might be a little later than that.

Goals for the day: Flower and Garden Festival, meet Pluto in his new spot, movies and shows around WS, meet and greets, Mulan, Alice, Belle, etc., as many as we can fit in.

FP+ for the day: Test Track, Spaceship Earth, Living with The Land

Lunch – snack around the world, Flower and Garden booths for Jim, probably Yorkshire fish for me since I found very little at the booths that I will eat.

Dinner – ADR at Garden Grill

Saturday, May 3rd, 2014

We will be heading to Hollywood Studios for morning EMH

Goals for HS: ride TSM multiple times, meet Buzz & Woody, Wreck it Ralph and Donald & Daisy in HS cloths, ToT and animation class.

FP+ for the day: TSM, ToT and Star Tours. Jim will probably ride Star Tours twice if he likes it since it makes me sick.

Lunch: Beaches and Cream

Afternoon/Evening: Kind of up in the air. We may go back to HS for a bit or head to DTD for shopping at World of Disney and the Lego Store. Possibly catch some of the Yee Haw Bob Show at POR.

Dinner: WPE at DTD or Food Court at POR.

Sunday, May 4th, 2014

We will be heading to MK all day.

Goals for the day: Anna and Elsa at rope drop since I was unable to snag a FP+ (we plan on being at the park way before opening so we can get there before most of the crowd), Mine Train soft opening?, Merida, Gaston and other greets that Jim wants, new parade.

FP+ for the day: BTMR, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear

Lunch: FP for BOG

Dinner: Kona Café

Monday, May 5th

Flight out is 1:30 pm so we can get the doggies so that means DME will be 10:30 am. We’ll probably just hang out at the resort until time to go.

Up Next: Day 1 of May trip, I don’t have a title yet.

It's nice that Jim agreed to go! Sounds like you guys are going to do a lot of fun things while you're there! Can't wait to read all about it :) I hope you do get a chance to ride the new Mine Train!!

That's nice that Jim decided to go with you.

Your plans sound great.

A little heads up as I just read this on FB on a friend's update who is at Disney right now. The wait time for Anna and Elsa was 240 minutes at 9:15 a.m. :scared1: I'm so glad that Mary was able to snag fastpasses for us and at an earlier time too.

I absolutely LOVE all of your plans for your short trip. :goodvibes You are filling it with just the right amount of activity. :thumbsup2 I really do like sticking to just one park a day, but then again we travel with three kids. :crazy2:

And you know me well enough to know that I HAVE to mention...great food/ restaurant choices, too!!! :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

And POR... our home away from home. I really do miss that place.
