Rock n' rollercoaster rehab?

I know within the past week I saw that Rock N' Rollercoaster was undergoing rehab in January-I just don't remember the dates. Now, I can't find where I read it Does anyone know the dates?

Also, my dh can't figure out why Disney needs to "rehab" the rides every year So, to satisfy him, can someone please explain exactly what they do to the rides. I tried to explain they paint and clean the rides and background, but his response was "Well rock n' rollercoaster is dark, why do they need to paint"

I and a few others have called disney recently I have called them on 2 different days and spoke to 2 different CM about this rumor, and me and the others who have called have been told the same thing NO they are not closing the ride for refurb. They told me they get the information reguarding the rehabs 6 months in advance in order to let guests booking trips during those times know that this major attraction will be closed. They said there is NO refurb on that ride. They also said they get this information before the park workers or ride workers find out.
