My lads are looking forward to getting Rock Band, they have Guitar Hero II and III. Though it is expensive about £200 just for the drums, mic and 2 guitars I believe. I think the game is extra.
Hmm, I agree that the instruments are expensive and it is a bit of a ripoff to have to buy the game seperately. It obviously is oblivious to the marketing people at EA, that once you have the instruments, you may infact want to actually play the game. One thing I can say, that if you already have the guitars from GH II and III, you can use those in the game (they're actually much easier to play with), the only differences being that you don't have the upper frets for solos and you don't have the tone switch, so, if they're not bothered about singing, you could just buy the drum set and the game and it would still work. Add to that, that apparently most USB microphones should work in game, not just the official one, then that could help make it cheaper.
*Edited to add, for the £30 difference between the whole set, and the single drum set, you might as well spend the extra to get the guitar and mic, oh and on play.com, the instrument set is £99.99*
I'm lucky to be getting a copy for free(ish - I have to buy my friend lunch I think). In february, my friend and I went to Play.com Live, and both entered the competition for a "Rock Band Package", this as far as I know includes an Xbox 360 Premium, Rock Band game, and instruments (However, this was guessed before I knew the instuments would be sold seperately). Well, we got separated into different bands (which also gave us 2 chances of winning) as my friend was desperate for a new Xbox 360 (his was getting on a bit), and I was desperate for the game.
Well, unluckily, my band didn't get to play, however his did, and they WON! So thus, I have a free copy. I may have to wait a week or two after the game has actually come out, but if it's free, I don't care, and I CAN'T WAIT!
