I'm posting this on the land and world boards because I haven't came up with a destination yet. However due to my daughters school trip. I can only either go the last week of March or in the middle of June. I know both of them are nightmares, but from your experience which is the lesser of two evils? I would appreciate any help I'm trying to finalize this trip as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

Eh personally, I would take June. March may be wet this year (the whole El Nino thing is supposed to be bad, they say). I would take (almost certain) heat over that personally. Good luck with your decision.

From a DLR perspective, a few things to note...

The last week in March is going to be right in the height of the Spring Break Season (usually the week before and after Easter). It does mean the parks will be operating longer with full entertainment, but the crowds will likely be high. At this point, all signs indicate that the 60th Anniversary Celebration will still be happening. It's unknown at this point, how much of an impact El Nino (if it happens) will have on DLR and when those impacts may occur.

The middle of June is likely to be busy as summer guests start arriving, so the parks should be operating with longer hours and full entertainment. If you go in the earlier part of June, you may run into Grad Night crowds (some guests think they're awful, others are not bothered by them). DLR has not yet announced an end date for the 60th Anniversary Celebration, but the best guessing is either just before the start of summer 2016 or at the end of the summer.

HydroGuy has a good thread with information about historic weather:

I haven't heard of a lot of things happening in 2016 (yet), but the calendar will get more filled out as we get closer to the dates.

Personally I would go with June. We've actually been during both. Look at pictures of crowds during Spring Break; it's not pretty. June is not the most crowded month. I'm not sure which days you're looking at in June, but I would look at a block out calendar as there are days when locals are blocked that are less busy. The biggest issue with mid-June is the grad parties. They do add guests to an increasingly busy park. If I could, I would pick the first week of June (lower vacation crowds) or the last week of June (no grad parties). But if you have to go mid-June, it's not that bad. And the weather is not too hot then either. With full hours it's easy to get there for rope drop, take a break mid-day, and stay until midnight (if kids can handle it). Book your hotel early to save some money too. Hotel rates are often cheaper in June than Spring break too, another indication crowds are slightly les.

Ditto w/ June. We went in June (granted a few years ago), and it wasn't too bad, especially weekdays.

I vote for June, too. You'll have better weather for the most part, and should have longer hours. Also, there will be more daylight to do things.

I also vote for June :) We are going to be there starting June 20th :) I don't know if you have ever been to either park, I have never been to WDW even though it is closer because we love DL so much and California, I am also a little intimidated by WDW. So I also put my vote in for DL!!! We already have our room booked for our trip and depending on how long you plan to stay the new Homewood Suites will be opening the end of November and they have great prices, cheaper the longer you stay, and have breakfast and an evening snack/dinner kind of thing during the week! Good luck with your planning!!!
