Just wondering why people fly out of ROC? How much further is the drive? I am searching for flights to head to New Orleans for Easter weekend for a wedding & Rochester is a few hundred dollars cheaper with United. I don't know anything about Rochester so just questioning it before we book.

Thanks!

I live in Rochester(Webster), Buffalo is an hour drive from our home.I myself would not drive the hour away to save a few dollars. When traveling with 6 kids it is easier to be able to jump in the car and head to and from the airport. On the other hand we have a lot of friends who DO fly out of BUF airport, they don't mind the drive. With that being said I guess it all depends on if you feel it's woth the savings to add more road time to your trip. I did look into airfare one time out of BUF but i did not see any savings, but that could have been the destination we were heading too.. Good luck !

We always have flown out of Buffalo, except one year I got flights to MCO from ROC for $70 so we drove the extra bit! We already drive 6.5 hours to get to Buffalo so what was an extra hour, not much!

We have always flown from Toronto but we are cruising March break so we have less flight flexibility. ROC nonstop flights (4 people) are $1860, BUF was around $2600 and YYZ around $3600. We're trying ROC for first time.

We almost bought AC flight passes but did not want to go to Orlando for the third summer in a row and fifth trip in same 3 years.

Last March our flight out of BUF went mechanical and all they could find leaving the same day were flights out of Rochester. It was an hours drive, the airport has better food options, free Internet and parking that was less expensive that
you can walk to the terminal from.

I will definetly look at Rochester.

I don't mind the extra drive, heck, I'd drive anywhere to avoid flying out of Pearson LOL. I will keep in mind it's an extra hours drive when I'm comparing prices. Thanks for the info.
