So what is a roasted Pork Shank at Gaston's Tavern this sounds like something my husband would love.
Also is the turkey leg still a snack credit at the Turkey Leg cart in Frontier land?

OMG it's amazing! So happy we discovered it in September! It's more than a snack...it's a meal! DH and I shared one at We were stuffed! So good and blows the turkey legs out of the water.

Pork shank is pretty awesome. I would put it a step above a turkey leg in overall appeal, although it can be a mess to eat, so it's not necessarily something you'll want to carry around the park. But definitely worth a stop at Gaston's to enjoy.

For what it's worth, they are also available for breakfast. Pair it with a big ol' cinnamon roll, and you've got a romantic breakfast for two (or so I tried to convince my wife...I got the breakfast, but not sure she was feeling the romance as much as I was). We've never found Gaston's to be crowded in the mornings, so it can (seriously) be a nice place to stop early in the day for a fairly unique dining option.

I'm pretty sure the last time I was there the turkey leg was no longer on the snack credit list.

WE had the same thing a couple of times at Disneyland last year, totally awesome, great sauce on the side, messy but who cares

The one at Gaston's does not have sauce on the side, although that would be a great option. Fully agree with the "messy but who cares" approach...there are plenty of napkins available for the post-shank clean-up.

A turkey leg is now over $10 and the pork shank is almost that much. So no, they aren't a snack credit.

Turkey leg is not a snack. Never was, to my knowledge, although you can use a QS meal credit for it. Same for the pork shank.

Yes. And if you do use a quick service for it, they only give you the leg - no drink or dessert.

It is a poor use of a quick service credit.

Actually, they are supposed to give you at least a drink with it if you use a QS credit so make sure you get what you are entitled to.

Some places that serve them don't have desserts, but they are likely to offer something else like a bag of chips. No way you should be getting just the leg for a QS meal credit.

Wow! They really have cut back then.
2 years ago, we got the turkey leg, drink, chips and cookie for 1QS credit!

My DS15 is looking forward to the turkey legs. Will he be able to pay for it with his MagicBand, or will I have to accompany him to the stand? (Where exactly is the Frontierland stand?)

Are you on the dining plan or do you plan to have his band activated for charging back to the room? If you do either, he can pay for his own as long as he knows the PIN.

We also had a pork shank dinner one night a Pop Centry. It was delicious, came with a great gravy. It was not available every night but I do remember seeing it a few nights.
