Roast beef sandwich at BOG

I just noticed that the roast beef sandwich is not on the BOG menu. That was my favorite thing to get for lunch. Does anyone know how long it's been off the menu? And when something like that is removed, there's no chance that they can still make it, right?

Interesting! It was on the menu in May but I had heard it was no longer served warm.

It's been gone for a short while. Long enough that I don't think they could or would make it for you now. There is a French Dip sandwich available. I had it a couple of weeks ago. It was ok - not nearly as good as the cold roast beef sandwich they used to serve.

It sounds like different preparation now, a french dip vs a cold roast beef sandwich. You could still try it? It would likely be very similar, maybe even better tasting.

It's listed as "French Dip Sandwich". I understand this is different than the original roast beef sandwich BOG offered. French Dip is a warm roast beef sandwich, with a beef broth-like "dip". The original had a horseradish like spread on it. Maybe arugula? Can't remember exactly. Then it went to a cold roast beef sandwich. Now it's the French Dip. I'm good with this- I wasn't thrilled to hear it was changed to a cold roast beef sandwich. I love French Dip- hope it's good because it's what I am ordering in 2 weeks!!

I have not had the roast beef sandwich before, but my daughter and I split the French Dip on 7/20. We both thought it was very good. It was warm(ish) and the jus for dipping was good too.

I started seeing posts about the French Dip about a month ago. Mind you, changing the original sandwich to cold really ruined it but warm it was my absolute favorite sandwich and not just at Disney. I don't usually care for French Dips but I may still give it a try. CHH has also ditched the veggie/hummus sandwich so Disney is currently on a roll of removing my favorite foods from their menu.

I always order the roast beef and had it cold for the first time in May and still enjoyed it. But I am looking forward to trying the French dip. I can't eat gluten so I'm curious what kind of bread they will use for the dip. The regular roast beef sandwiches, both warm and cold, were served on millet sandwich bread slices.
