Roam Mobility Prepaid USA SIM + Samsung Galaxy J3 (6) / Are they Compatible?

From: Costco (Canada)

Model: SM-J320W (aka as SM-J320W8 … the “8” means that the phone was purchased in “Canada”)


Question: Is this phone compatible with Roam Mobility’s Prepaid USA SIM Card?


1) YES! I received an email confirmation from Roam Mobility’s Help Desk and they confirmed that the above noted phone (UNLOCKED) is compatible with Roam Mobility’s Prepaid USA SIM card.

2) These are the steps involved in order to use ROAM SIM Card in the USA:


· UNLOCKED phone

· Buy ROAM SIM

· Activate ROAM SIM

· Schedule a Plan

· Buy a Plan

· Insert SIM Card

· Enter APN (if required)

6) My “newbie” misunderstanding was corrected by a fellow Dis’er:

I naively thought that calls to my husband’s phone would be considered “local” BUT I was wrong! Since he has a Canadian number any calls I place while on a USA Roaming plan would be charged long distance. Please take note of this so that you can work this info into your calculations when deciding on a Roaming plan.
