I like "WhereTo?" for businesses along the exits and "BeatheTraffic" for traffic information.

iExit. Great app to know what is available at each exit on the interstates. Shows you several exits ahead and lists actual brand names (not just "gas" or "food") as well as how far off the highway they are.

Its smart enough to know what direction you are driving and only shows the exits ahead of you. Two versions, free and paid. We used the free version on a drive from MA to WDW in October last year and were so impressed with it we bought the paid version just to support the developer.

Its my favorite site lately. It has tons of free games you can download to your phone/tablet for kids. They even have a version of Angry birds (mad pigs I belive). If your more into learning stuff, they have that too! I download a ton of stuff from there each week for my students (It helps at Crabby 0' clock)

Waze - This app is crowd sourced info regarding police, traffic and road hazards. It even gives verbal warnings!
