DW and I will be staying at the Riviera this weekend for a resort only stay. Checking in Friday, leaving Monday. Normally for our resort only stays we plan on spending a lot of time at the pool(s). Looks like it might be too cool to swim this weekend. What ideas do people have for a resort only stay?

We will probably avoid Disney Springs due to the large crowds. We have two reservations at Topolino's Terrace, one breakfast and one dinner. We will probably go play mini golf at Winter Summerland because we have never done so.

Other than that, nothing is planned. Any ideas are appreciated, thanks!

How about an afternoon "crawl" around the monorail resorts to check out lounges or just the resorts in general, shops etc. (incl. boat over to Wilderness Lodge for Geyser Point - *if* open, it does sometimes close when "cold")? Note that monorail station at Poly is currently closed. Or could skyliner over to the Epcot station and do the same at the Epcot area resorts. Or Sanaa for lunch (bread service!) and then poking around both Kidani Village and AKL might be fun. Many of our favorite activities revolve around eating, LOL. I believe the spa at the Swan & Dolphin is open so that could be an option. Hope you have fun! Fingers crossed the forecast warms up!

Have you stayed there yet? I'd probably explore every last detail of the resort. Not sure if the fitness center is open, but that's where I'd be about once/day. Are there any outdoor rooftop areas you can go without a reservation? Can you go up there, order a coffee, and just enjoy the view?

What about riding the skyliner? You don't have to go to the resort, but may be a cool experience.

We've talked about going down for Easter and doing a resort-only stay. We'd stay at Saratoga and walk over the Disney Springs, doing only restaurants we haven't had before.

There’s a Skyliner scavenger hunt that you can do! It happens a few days of the week, so you may want to check with the front desk for the current schedule.

Well you could schedule a tour with DVC in the lobby, to see the Bungalows or the WL Cabins... or even just to enter the RR Tower Studio .
Be sure to take a picture of the personalized greeting on Smart TV as you enter . Also fun to connect Disney+ to watch on that TV .
In evenings 6:30 -10 pm , they stream the HEA fireworks ... I wonder why that tv in POP Century seemed so small after RR stay! I think Channel 74.
Basically enjoying &exploring all the artwork and music. Walt Disney Library in lobby... The lower level has foreign Disney Movie Posters.
Early morn walks , evening walks, late night , all offer different ambience. Sun setting SkyLiner Views , same for rooftop views .
Relax and enjoy because it IS !

I was just there for NYs week and I asked about the RR Scavenger Hunt and they said No longer available thru DVC desk guide... Should have known to ask twice at front desk but figured the SkyLiner Scavenger was also cancelled due to unprecedented times.
Do they have the outdoor movies or fire pit?
When they first opened the RR lifeguards would have daily remote control boat races on the Riviera pool...along with a gift from DVC for completion of scavenger hunt... Nice small canvas RR scene with swan .

Question with that... Do they always keep one open for tours? Or is that only part of the tour if there is one that is not rented?

Asking as I have one booked for February and while I know that there should be a daily security check and you agree to that when you stay, there is nothing I've seen about your assigned room being on a tour. I'd not be happy to find out that random people were being allowed to enter it as part of a tour.

Sounds soooo lovely! I too would skyliner tour to see Art of Animation and Pop as we’ve never been. Scavenger hunt would be a bonus. We did walk over and check out Caribbean beach and banana cabana for a drink one night as it was a lovely walk and beautiful view of the Riviera all lit up. Also could skyliner over as others have said and enjoy Boardwalk area resorts for a drink/tour/shopping, which was sadly really quiet even when we were there at Thanksgiving. There’s also an in-resort artwork scavenger hunt if you haven’t checked out the resort yet. Riviera Bocce ball. Bring cards, cribbage, or books, and cozy up with a warm beverage from La Petit Cafe in the two-person Covered Beach Lounges. Loved the warm Brie from Bar Riva. Sleep in! Sunsets from courtyard view room balconies were Amazing! So definitely a sunset drink before dinner on the balcony if that’s an option.
Enjoy!!

I can't imagine they'd ever let random people enter someone's occupied room during a tour.
