I have read alot of the threads and everyone has such positive things to say about the hotels. If you were picking between these two, which would you choose, and why? We will be traveling with 2 adults, and 2 kids ages 6 and 2. Thanks!

I haven't stayed at POR but I picked POFQ when I went because.....

Very small resort....all rooms are close to everything....
great themed pool.....although the pool slide is way pansy.....
fun theming, good food court,

1st on and off the bus:thumbsup2
Nice boat to DTD or POR if you want to explore.
Happy planning

I've really enjoyed my stays at POR, which has a great pool area and food court, however, the resort is very spread out so you can have some pretty long walks. I just stayed at POFQ last week for the first time and loved the theming of the resort. It's much smaller and easier to get around. The pool area didn't seem as big as at POR, and the food court was a bit smaller and less choices as well. You can't go wrong with either resort, IMO!

P.S. I've always requested quiet pool side of Parterre Place at POR, which leaves a very short walk over to the main bus stop/food court and a bit longer walk to the main pool, but just a few steps from a large "quiet" pool. It's also close to the parking lot, if you have a car and plan on using it.

POFQ for those ages . Just easier to get around and the Pool is great.

Also remember as they are sister resorts you can use everything at POR and get there by walking, boat or bus.

fq is a great resort. nice rooms, nice layout, and pool is great for younger kids.

Wow, that's a really tough question. I think I would pick POFQ because it is smaller, and the rooms are in a more convenient location to everything. :)

I have stayed at both, and prefer POFQ much much more than POR!

First of all I like the size of FQ better, everything is close and yet, it is still peaceful and quiet.

The bus service is WAY better, due to the fact that they usually pick up and drop off at FQ first.

POR was ok, but FQ is our favorite mod!!!!!

For myself I would choose POR. But with your young children I suggest POFQ. The smaller size of the resort will make your life much easier, and the pool is wonderful for little kids. Happy choosing!

We pick POR. We like the way the resort is spread out so it doesn't feel "crowded" even when it is full. We like the long walks across Ol' Man Island to the food court. It is our style.

I have stayed at both and prefer POFQ. I like the smaller resort and the fact that the busses usually come to FQ first.

We stayed at POR for the 1st time in Sept. My kids were also 6 & 2. We liked POR a lot. Yes it is much bigger and more spread out...but we liked that the food court was much bigger with more choices. We also liked that POR had a larger gift shop. My boys thought the slide was better at pool at POR. But what's so great about staying at either one is that you can use each other's pool. We spent our last day over at PRFQ so the boys could go on their slide which was the dragon...they loved being able to try it!:)

We have stayed at both, and prefered POFQ overall (kids 6 and 8 at the time). I personally prefered the pool and the food court at POR, but at POR the walk was always so long for everything.

I would pick POR for us. My issue with FQ is that it is not a full service moderate resort, and I won't pay moderate rates there. No sit down restaurant, no quiet pools (which we enjoy) and having to go over to the other resort for amenities.....not for us. We have never had a problem with walking around POR so the size is not an issue for us. We have visited, eaten at the food court, and walked around FQ. My kids, who were 5 and 9 one time, said the Dragon pool was too babyish. The loved the POR pool with the "treehouse" slide.

FQ has lots of fans, and one day I may try it, IF I get a discounted rate.

We loved POR, and thought POFQ looked more motel like! Loved the pool at POR, loved the dining and our room was awesome!

Enjoy either place.

Don't Worry Either one you Pick will be Wonderful!

We Stayed at POR in Sept. and really enjoyed the beautiful grounds,
main pool and architecture so quiet. They have a very good TS Restaurant and CS.

We went to visit FQ while we were there and loved the quant charm of the
resort. Loved the HOt tub better at FQ because it was larger and not right next to the main pool. I love the iron railings on the Buildings and the colors.
We will be staying at POFQ on our next trip but will be visiting again at POR,
it's nice that you can use facilities at both.
Have a Fun Trip!

We stayed at POFQ last February with a 3 year old and loved it! The busses were great and the overall theming and feel of the resort was really enjoyable for us. I booked POR for this April and then changed it last month to FQ. I heard Zydeco music and knew I had to change! Although I love the beautiful grounds and theming at POR, we just felt so "at home" at FQ. The fact that we can use the pools at POR and the restaurant there (not that we eat TS much anyway) make it a win-win for us. We just love this resort and would recommend it to anyone!

It basically boils down to a few things...

First, how much walking do you want to do with two kids?... You will do a ton of that at the parks, so a smaller resort may be just what you need... which points you toward the FQ...

The another thing is... do you really need/want a sit down restaurant at your resort... The FQ breakfast menu isn't bad at all, and that is usually the only meal we ever eat at the resort... the rest are in the parks...

As others have mentioned the buses pick up first at FQ, so you're sure to get a seat... with kids that is probably a factor for you as well... You'll probably enjoy the boat ride to DTD also... I know we did!..

The theme of the FQ is upbeat and gorgeous... LOVE the jazz playing as you walk around... I just have nothing bad to say about the FQ... POR is gorgeous too so you probably wouldn't be disappointed there either...

Either way... Have a wonderful trip!!!... :thumbsup2

Never stayed at either - but I think they both look gorgeous in their own right! We want to try them both eventually.:)

Starting off with 2 nights (pre-cruise) at POFQ next May.:yay:

I'll let you know... We stayed at FQ last year-- LOVED it, it wasn't available this year so we are at R! We leave in 7 days!-- I can't wait-- I have heard great things about R!

We like POR better than FQ. FQ seemed more like a Hotel to us. POR more of a Resort feel. We are going back in Feb and will be staying at POR again. Our Son is 4. The great thing is though you can visit both while there. You just need to decide if you want everything real close or do you want more of a Resort feeling. I don't feel you can go wrong either way.
