OK - So my hubby and I have a trip already booked at POR-Riverside May 1-4 (Garden View/25%off room only). All good!

We've decided that we wanted to stay an extra night. I've been checking and can see as of today that the Riverside currently has Standard, King, and Royal rooms all available during that extra night (May 4-5).

I've called Disney travel# now twice and when I asked to add an additional night (May 4-5), the agent tells me she can't find any rooms at Riverside. I also explained that it was AOK if we had to check out and check back in to another room, but still indicates there no rooms!!! I find this odd since as I am talking with the agent, I have Disney pulled up on my computer and can see there is availability.

Should I just book it myself online and take care of it upon check-in that I have two reservations or will I have an issue??? I just don't understand why I can't book the additional night even if it's another room type??? What am I missing?

UGH!!!

Can you try to modify your existing reservation online?

Go on your MDE and try to doing it that way instead of dealing with someone on the phone. Just don't cancel your existing reservation. I am one of those ppl that hates dealing with the phone so I make all reservations on MDE instead. GL

I would book a whole new reservation with the full dates you want to stay and then call and ask them to merge the two reservations together. Or you can always call back and ask for another agent or guest services.

Do you think I'll have an issue at the resort with two separate reservations? It's our 25th Wedding Anniversary trip and just don't want any headaches. Further, I have to change our return flight and hesitant to do so if there is a room booking issue for that extra night? I just find it weird they can't see what I'm seeing.

Both Agent and myself directly tried to do that, but then it does come up with no availability.

If you do a 2nd reservation, call them and tell them that you want to link them together. I would also keep checking for rooms using the 1st - 5th dates to see if anything becomes available.

I've encountered this exact issue several times. I see a room I can book but I can't modify myself so I call and they say they can't see the room available. I tell them I have the site opened and can see the room available. The CM says, ok, let me try this, clicks away at something and every time, they miraculously find the room I see. I haven't a clue what they do wrong the first time or why but I've never had them NOT see a room I can see.

No, you won't have any issues if you book a 2nd reservation at the same resort. Happens all the time

If you can look online and see a room available to book for that one night, why can't you just go ahead and book it online yourself? It will be faster and less frustrating than calling to have them say they don't see it. After you book, call them and have them link the two reservations.

OK - additional question. I'll go in and book this myself for the one night. Is there a chance they would keep me in the same room so I don't have to check out and check back in??? I know I am asking a lot - :worried:

Yes, it's to their advantage to keep you in that room if at all possible. If they have to turn it over that's a much heavier cleaning than if the same guest remains in the room. Call when you book to let them know you have a continuing reservation. Remind them when you check in. They should be able to check right then to see if you are due to remain in the same room. Some resorts ask you to come to the desk to recheck in, some don't. They'll let you know when you arrive which they want you to do
