Rivers of Light - for a first timer?

It's been a while since ROL times were announced for our "big" trip March 3-9 (7:15 every night). It'll be my bf's first time to WDW and I'm debating whether I should prioritize ROL. Neither of us have seen it, so I feel like we should, but he's already pretty skeptical about the trip. The mixed reviews and snippets I've seen don't make me confident that it's particularly enthralling or worth it.

My alternate nighttime AK plan was to return after a rest and dinner at the YC -- going on Kilimanjaro, Expedition Everest, strolling through Pandora at night, and Tree of Life Awakenings.

Stroll to EE from the Dinoland area about 20-30 minutes before the RoL start-time.
If, as you pass near the RoL theater, it looks like you can get in without much trouble,
go in and see the show.
As an alternative, you might try to see a bit of the show from the bridge between the Nemo Theater and EE.
