Riveria food is best on property. Fight me. Lol

I agree. I haven’t been to Toppolino’s yet, but on my two visits I thought, Bar Riva, Le Petite Cafe and Primo Piatto were all fantastic. Food and drinks. Love the Le Petite’s coffee and treats. Enjoy some great cocktails and food at Bar Riva. I love the French fries at PP, plus many other items.
😎👍🏻💫✨
The banana bread mini loaf was wonderful!

Another thing I've noticed over the years with Disney dining is that they seem to lack consistency year to year. Sometimes our very favorite places change because of changes in the restaurant. I think they do their best to keep them consistent, but I believe the Chefs seem to move sometimes and this can make a huge difference. Most of them are all pretty good in my experience.

Indeed, and new restaurants open w/ lots of choices & then the bean counters start pruning the menu :(

Definitely the best QS on property imo!! We also stayed at BWV in Nov and found ourselves going to the Riviera for breakfast and lunch! I really think BWV need to up their food game!

It's Joffrey's coffee. Though each resort does get a unique flavor, it's still just Joffrey's.
We will have to agree to disagree. I love Joffrey's, but La Petit is not the same thing as Joffrey's. Contemporary Grounds is an actual Joffrey's. Perhaps La Petit uses Joffrey's coffee, but it IS NOT a Joffrey's. In particular the drinks below are unique, and IMHO better than any cold brew I've ever had at Joffrey's.

It’s Joffrey’s in the exact same way as every non-Starbucks Cafe on property. They get their coffee and baked goods from the same place. They operate under the same contract and procedures. Each resort gets its own “blend” and a few “unique” menu items to create the perception of variety.

I could be wrong but I don’t believe this is necessarily accurate. I think I remember hearing the brownie bites are made in house. No sure if I’m misremembering or not and what that means for the rest of their pastries. I also know they make their whipped creams and the turbinado syrup in house, so that’s unique.

That picture you posted is for fresh brewed drip coffee. In that case, Joffrey's is Joffrey's and I won't disagree with you there.

Now, perhaps you are correct (and you probably are) that they use Joffrey's for the espresso, cold brew, etc. But that does not make it a Joffrey's. The drinks are different and taste different / better (at least to my wife and me). I love my Joffrey's Shakin' Jamaican cold brew, but the cold brews offered at Le Petit are different and better. The espresso drinks also taste different and better to us.

I will also apply what you said to the coffee bars at YC and BC. They also likely use Joffrey's coffee, but to me they are far worse than Joffrey's (and Le Petit).

Just because the same brand coffee is being used doesn't make it the same place or same quality.

Feel free to respond, but I am tapping out. We obviously have different viewpoints on this, and that is ok. It's what these boards are all about.

I'm not surprised to see the AKL crew rise up in defense in this thread -- that was my first thought too! -- but I've heard a lot of great things about the dining options at Swan/Dolphin and I'm surprised that hasn't come up. I've not stayed/eaten there myself but at least a few years ago it always seemed to come up as an underrated gem.

Has Swolphin dining gone downhill? Was it just overhyped?

Yes, AKL dining is time-tested over many years, and verified the best resort dining on property - even it I can only say that for sure for my wife and me! We've had a couple very nice meals at Topolino's, along with a not-so-good one. But that was during a tough time trying to reopen during a pandemic, so we'll definitely give that a pass. If we're honest, the restaurants at AKL are not without an off night, be that very seldom!

We also love BlueZoo at the Dolphin, but haven't experienced much else there. If you count Swan Reserve, we also now enjoy Amare on the list of places to eat. But if given a resort-only stay for dining, it's AKL for us.
