A month or so ago we added 125 direct points so we could get a blue card before it went up to 150. Our direct salesman was telling us how they were coming after the resale market and they had a plan at driving up the resale prices. I figured he was just talking out of his butt as salesman do sometimes, but was he right? Resale prices are crazy high, maybe he was on to something. Is Disney driving up prices with all the buy backs?

ROFR does very little to drive up prices. It’s simply very high resale demand coupled with what seems like fairly low direct demand (and limited resale inventory). The resale demand makes sense to me, but the direct side lagging behind is a little surprising. Maybe as park capacity fills it will return to normal.

I think resale prices are up because more people have confidence & are in the market to buy the timeshares. Prices will rise with higher demand and similar supply. Also will rise with less supply and constant or increasing demand.
