Rise of the Resistance BOARDING GROUPS Superthread Part 2 *No Ride Spoilers Please* *PLEASE READ POSTS 1-3*

Are backup boarding groups actually still available? At 10? Just playing with the app to familiarize myself. Going the week after Easter. I'm concerned about how hard it will be to get one that week!
I'll be there Wed/Thurs of that week for my first try. It's going to be crazy, but I think we're going to be ok as long as we plan ahead. And if it goes south and we don't get one...It's still Disneyland.

You know, the week AFTER Easter is usually not too insane unless Easter is early and coincides with March spring breaks. We always have that week off because the school I taught at/school my daughter attends has an "Easter Break" rather than a "Spring Break," and we spent several years being "surprised" by the more moderate crowds before we stopped being surprised and decided that's kind of the norm. We were out of town Easter 2019, but we went the two Easter Sundays before that (after church, so not even rope-dropping), and found them quite manageable, too. It's not going to be empty, of course, but you might be pleasantly surprised!

Back on topic for ROTR, I would guess they were able to start loading so early this morning because of how early they stopped calling groups last night, right?

I have experienced this as well. It seems to depend on how late Easter is. This year it is late-ish but not super late. I checked the school calendars and about 1/3 of the southern california school districts are off this week. The other 2/3 are spread among other weeks in March and April.

I'm banking on the Wednesday effect and superior knowledge to aid me in my quest.

Edit: I'm sure I will be happy with the crowd levels since our usual trip is between Christmas and New Year :)

With regards to that, they actually only stopped calling about 20 minutes early last night with that last second flurry they pulled. I'm sure they were able to shut down about half an hour early, but I think it is that combined with the 9am opening and obviously things went well enough overnight that they were feeling ready to go at park open today.

They're pulling the lunchtime acceleration lever a little early. 2.5 hours in and we've got 50 groups called.

OK, DLR came to play today. They just pulled another acceleration calling 6 BGs in the last 5 minutes. Maybe the button got stuck?

So here at the three hour mark, we're looking at a 36 group spread and 63 groups called.

Not sure whether this should make me nervous or not, but it kind of does...

Or they are CRANKING it to proper throughput capacity. :) Probably a combination of both the lunchtime lull and feeling more comfortable on the capacity to push hard early.

Sat and Sun. So we will have one early day at DL and one DCA.
And our DCA day we will be leaving around 6 or 7 to catch return flights.

Our last on-site stay we only had two days as well. Our first EMH was at DCA. We opted to scan into DL first and then immediately exited and used our EMH. Our APs did get flagged, but the CM cleared it quickly as we’d informed him about scanning into DL for a BG. We were by no means into DCA very early (had a slow start after DAD Sweetheart’s the night before, had to get my hubby complimentary coffee, etc.), but we found it very empty! We were able to ride everything we wanted plus some favorites multiple times using MP very efficiently.

The next morning (Saturday of President’s Day weekend), we actually did the same thing after riding a couple DL rides during DL’s EMH/MM. We headed back to DCA and found it again empty for the first couple hours until some holiday crowds started pouring in.

I really wouldn’t worry about it too much especially since your first day you’ll be starting at DL!

Regular groups done by 12:40. Coming up on 4 hours now at group 76 and a 38 group spread. That means that they have called just as many in the second two hours as in the first two hours...

If my conjecture of 80 people per BG is correct, then 19 BG/hour is 1520 people per hour, which seems in line with target capacity estimates.

I say they are just prepping for my trip next week to get the ride moving smoothly and efficiently!

I got in line at 1:50 with BG 86 and they just said the ride is down. I was disappointed with BG 86 but surprised how fast they were cranking through groups. Shoulda known that it would break down by the time I got in line. The ride was due for some downtime after how well it was running all day

Thanks for the intel. Hopefully they'll get back up and running quickly!

We're seeing movement...Looks like downtime of 75 minutes. Here's hoping it holds and we get another 5 hours here...
